NEXT EVENT: September 16, 2011 - 3rd Annual Chicagoland 225, Chicagoland Speedway, Joliet, IL (225 Miles) (150 Laps)
NOTE: The above figures are based upon team winnings and include racing purse and cash contingency awards by participating manufacturers.(NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications) (9/5/2011)
Hornaday wins at Atlanta: Pit strategy was the name of the game for Ron Hornaday and the KHI #33 Armour/Ingles Chevrolet team, as he took the checkers for the Good Sam Club 200 just ahead of teammate, #2-Clint Bowyer who finished second. Hornaday sustained front-end damage early in the race, but managed to race his way as high as sixth. The call for an early final pit stop won him the race. The leaders had to come down for a green flag pit stop with 19 remaining, and Hornaday took the lead by more than 15 seconds. There were not enough laps left to catch him. It was Hornaday's second win this season; a record-career 49th series win overall. Another bad night for #13-Johnny Sauter as troubles on the track caused him to finish 22 laps down in 29th place. As a result, #31-James Buescher has taken over the Driver Point Standings lead with 588, 12 points ahead of Sauter. Rounding out the top ten were; #18-Kyle Busch, #32-Blake Feese, #08-Ryan Newman, #3-Austin Dillon, #88-Matt Crafton, #4, Ricky Carmichael #5-Todd Bodine, #31-James Buescher. There were 7 lead changes among 4 drivers, with 5 cautions for 24 laps.(Unofficial)(9-2-2011)
