Logano has won 2 races from the pole out of 8 previous poles.
    #4-Harvick is on the outside pole followed by #1-McMurray, #11-Hamlin, #19-Edwards, #42-Larson, #31-Newman, #9-Hornish Jr., #88-Earnhardt Jr., #5-Kahne, #47-Allmendinger and #2-Keselowski.
Thirteen cars didn't get to make a run during the first round as they didn't get thru pre-qualifying tech inspection, including #24-Gordon, #20-Kenseth, #48-Johnson, #14-Stewart, #41-Smith.
    Missing the race were: #66-Wallace, #83-DiBenedetto, #46-Annett, #29-Sorenson.(2-27-2015)

  • Thirteen cars don't get to make a qualifying lap due to inspection issues: Former Sprint Cup champions #48-Jimmie Johnson, #24-Jeff Gordon, #14-Tony Stewart and #20-Matt Kenseth were among the 13 drivers who did not get a chance to post qualifying times Friday after their cars didn't get through inspection in time at Atlanta Motor Speedway. As several teams had problems in the tech area, reportedly in the rear camber area, and had to go through inspection a second time, NASCAR delayed the start of qualifying for 15 minutes. But that wasn't enough as the 15-minute first round was completed before 13 cars could get through and then make a qualifying lap. With 36 spots available on speed and only 34 taking times, everyone who posted a first-round time got into the QuikTrip 500 on Sunday. The remaining nine spots were based on 2014 owner points. #46-Michael Annett, #66-Mike Wallace, #83-Matt DiBenedetto and #29-Reed Sorenson never took a lap and missed the race pending post-qualifying technical inspection.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Director Richard Buck said the laser inspection bay was open during the test Thursday and many teams were pushing the tolerances looking for mechanical group as part of the new aerodynamic rules. He said every team had gone through tech at least once 17 minutes before qualifying started and with a television window, there was no consideration of an additional delay beyond 15 minutes. He said 20 teams had to go through at least two times -- about twice the average on a normal race weekend last year. "Their job is to push it to that very limit," Buck said. "Our job is to treat everybody fairly and give everybody an opportunity to come through that inspection room. But their responsibility is to come through there right but to the limit. I think that's what you saw today, was everybody pushing the limits." It was not rare last year for a car or two not to get through inspection, but more than a dozen cars was virtually unheard of since NASCAR went to group qualifying last year. All the cars that didn't get through inspection before the end of the first round still had to go through inspection and be approved.(ESPN in part)(2-27-2015)

RED = Needs to qualify by speed, not eligible for a regular provisional, no owners points or too deeply ranked in owners points

PC1 = is the first past champ eligible, PC2 is the 2nd...and so on if more

# Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate

(i) = driver not running for Sprint Cup Series Championship Drivers Points

Ties are broken as follows:
1) Owners Points
2) Best finishes, most wins, 2nds, 3rds and so on until the tie is broken
3) If tie still remains, then the team with the highest position first breaks the tie
(so if two are ties, both have a win, then the team who won first gets the spot)
