The #30 car may be available to enter events on a part-time basis.(CS/TMG)(1-6-2016)

AND hearing Circle Sport team owner, Joe Falk has a controlling interest in TMG Motorsports and that the team is making changes to their crew and personnel. Supposedly Pat Tryson will be the crew chief, the team could change to Toyota (ran Chevy in 2016) but no driver has been named. Falk has a Charter from his #33 Circle Sport team and leased it in 2016 to the #95 Leavine Family Racing team. Some of the personnel could come from that team (12-24-2016)

  • Gray Gaulding returns to the #30 at Phoenix: Gray Gaulding will be back behind the wheel of the #30 Feed the Children Chevy in Sunday's Can-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway making his second start in the Sprint Cup Series. Gaulding's debut at Martinsville was cut short after a broken rear gear forced the team behind the wall for lengthy repairs. Gaulding has one win and one runner-up finish with an average finishing position of 11th in five previous starts at PIR. Gaulding: "Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks we race at, we have had great success in the past and hopefully some of that experience will pay off in Sunday's race. I learned a lot at Martinsville and will continue learning every time I strap in the car. My plan going into the weekend is to be a sponge and soak in the knowledge and continue building on previous experiences."(GGR Enterprises)(11-11-2016)

  • Gray Gaulding set to make Cup Series debut at Martinsville: 18 year old NASCAR Next alumnus, Gray Gaulding will take the next step in his career making a debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS.) Gaulding will drive the #30 Feed the Children Chevy for The Motorsports Group (TMG) at Martinsville Speedway on October 30, 2016. "It's exciting bringing a new partner into the series and to be making my NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut at a track like Martinsville (Speedway) where we've had a really good history in the past is honestly unfathomable" said Gaulding. "I'm excited to partner with Feed the Children and use NASCAR as a platform to deliver our message and work to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry. A lot has happened in a short period of time but I've never been as excited to debut this beautiful Feed the Children car next week at Martinsville Speedway."
"We are pleased to sponsor Gray Gaulding, the youngest NASCAR driver in the Martinsville field and one of the most promising and fierce competitors among the many legendary NASCAR drivers who have made NASCAR one of the most exciting sports in America," said the Hon. J.C. Watts, Jr., president and CEO of Feed the Children. "He's not only bold in his approach, he's also blazing new trails, and we at Feed the Children strive to do the same. Gray knows firsthand the value of family, especially the NASCAR family who has joined us in our work as we have brought disaster relief to those whose lives and livelihoods have been severely affected by Hurricane Matthew and all the subsequent flooding."
"We're grateful to be partnering with Feed the Children in their mission to provide hope and resources for those without life's essentials" said Stephen Lynn, chief executive officer for GGR Enterprises. Josh Wise has driven the #30 all season until the team skipped Talladega this week. The team is an open team, Gaulding will have to qualify for the races on speed.(10-20-2016)

  • #30 TMG Team skipping Talladega: The #30 TMG Chevy is shown as being 'withdrawn' on the Hellman's 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway entry list. Per a tweet by @TMG30: "We are taking the Dega weekend off. We are still building and our plate program is just not where it needs to be to qualify." Driver @Josh_Wise also tweeted: "Pretty bummed we aren't going to make it to @TalladegaSuperS this week. One of the few tracks left that is an equalizer in the race." (10-19-2016)

  • TMG, Wise get sponsor for Darlington, Chicago: The Motorsports Group announced on Twitter Wednesday, that they have secured a sponsor for this weekend's Sprint Cup race at Darlington as well as the race at Chicagoland Speedway: "We are excited to announce our throwback paint scheme for the Southern 500! Thanks to our new partnership with Incredible Bank we are running Dale Earnhardt's #30 ARMY car. Not only have we teamed up with Incredible Bank for the Southern 500 but they will also be on the car for Chicago."(9-1-2016)

  • TMG picks up Texas sponsor: The Motorsports Group officials announced that Crawfest New Braunfels and the City of New Braunfels (Texas) will serve as sponsors of the team's #30 Chevrolet entry for the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Texas Motor Speedway. The logos of the festival and city it is held in will adorn the #30 Crawfest New Braunfels Chevrolet piloted by Josh Wise for the running of the Duck Commander 500 on Saturday night April 9, 2016 at the 1.5-mile Texas track. Crawfest New Braunfels 2016 will be held on April 29-30 at the Comal County Fairground in New Braunfels, Texas. Ben Jones, organizer of Crawfest New Braunfels, had been having a crawfish fest at his home for 14 years. After his wife said "no" to the loads of tour buses pulling up to her front door, Jones moved the increasingly popular event to the Comal County Fairgrounds. Now the event features three stages of live music, rides for the kiddos, the "Battle of the Roux" Gumbo Championships, a 5K Crawdaddy Dash, an art/craft market, and 10,000 lbs. of the best tasting mudbugs this side of the Louisiana border. TMG will also be supported for the Texas race by Radisson Ft. Worth North at Fossil Creek which will serve as home for the team during their stay in the area.(Integrity Sports Marketing), see an image of the car on the #30 team paint schemes page.(4-5-2016)

  • Josh Wise feels team is progressing: Riverside (CA) native Josh Wise was again behind the wheel of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car on Sunday, making his fifth career start at Auto Club Speedway [in the #30 TMG Chevy]. Wise completed 195 of 205 laps to finish 36th and match his career-best finish in the Auto Club 400. "I feel the performances have improved every weekend, and we're looking to continue that trend," Wise said. It was the 131st Sprint Cup race in six seasons for Wise, 33, a former USAC Sprint Car Series champion. New season-long sponsorships with The Motorsports Group, SBC Contractors and Curtis Key Plumbing are a vast improvement over last season when Wise scrambled to find a number of part-time deals that saw him complete just 24 of 36 races and finish 37th in points in 2015. "Our cars are better and getting our engines better and just finding setup packages that work for us at certain styles of race tracks," Wise said. "We're up against teams that have been doing it for 20-plus years. It's been a process up to this point in the season. We have our car driving pretty good. The guys have worked really hard on it. We've gone through a lot of changes and found some trends, so we've been in a building process with the team."(Press-Enterprise)(3-21-2016)

  • Wise, TMG to attempt more races: Despite missing the field for the Daytona 500, Josh Wise and The Motorsports Group will be attempting to qualify for more Sprint Cup races in this season. Wise told The Racing Experts that he and TMG intend to attempt this weekend's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway and events beyond. Wise is hopeful he and TMG will attempt the full-schedule. "If the cards fall right, I think that's the route we're going to try to take, but it's just a step-by-step process," Wise said. "I was in this position with the 98 with Phil Parsons a few years ago, we started the race team from scratch, and had to race in in points, build the team and find sponsorship and what not. Just starting again there from ground zero." Wise says the team has no affiliation with any team.(The Racing Experts)(2-25-2016)

  • Kvapil expects to run more Cup races this season: The racing season started strange for Janesville native Travis Kvapil. Back in March, his NASCAR Sprint Cup car and the trailer that contained it were stolen from a hotel parking lot near the Atlanta Motor Speedway the night before the team was due to qualify. Since then, Kvapil has been running for a few different teams in the Cup Series while running full-time in the Camping World Truck Series. The number of remaining Sprint Cup races that Kvapil will run is still week-to-week. "I would guess I'll run about half (of the Sprint Cup races remaining). I might also be in the #33 (Circle Sport Chevy), but for the most part I'll be driving the truck for the remainder of the truck schedule. Whatever Cup races come up, we'll see," he said. Kvapil's truck series team, MAKE Motorports, is also a newer, smaller team. With only eight races left on the truck series schedule, Kvapil thinks he'll be staying with MAKE Motorsports in the truck series next season. "It's all up in the air right now, but the team is in talks with sponsors, and we have some things looking good," Kvapil said. "It's too early to tell if it will pan out, but I plan on running trucks with them next year. Whatever Cup chances come up, I'll pursue them, but I won't do it for free and I'm not going to freak out if it doesn't happen. I've been around a long time, but I feel like I can still compete and win races at the Cup level," he said.(GazetteXtra)(9-4-2015)

As of April 6, 2015, Dave Fuge assumes the crew chief duties. Pat Tryson was the crew chief and is now listed as the crew chief on the #33 car when Circle Sport runs the car.(TMG). Hornaday, who has an impressive 55 combined National Series wins in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NCWTS, made his first Daytona 500 start in 2001 when he finished 17th, but hasn't made a NSCS start since 2003.
