Cassill and Hillman Racing get 18 race sponsor: Fuhu, Inc., creator of nabi - the world's first Android tablet built just for kids - is getting revved up for an exciting and meaningful new sponsorship with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Landon Cassill, fresh off of his ninth-place finish in Thursday night's second Daytona 500 qualifying race. In addition to acting as the primary sponsor in 18 Sprint Cup races, Cassill will debut the nabi branding on his #40 Hillman Racing Chevrolet at the NASCAR season-opening race, the Daytona 500, on Sunday, February 23, where he rolls off in the 18th position.
Philanthropy is a large and important part of this sponsorship. For every Fuhu-sponsored primary race - beginning with the event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in two weeks - Cassill will donate five % of his race team's prize money to benefit nabi Inspire, Fuhu's philanthropic arm with the mission to offer direct support for families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and help raise awareness. Fuhu will then match that donation with an additional five % for a 10 % total that could reach in excess of $175,000 during the initial 18-race program. During that time, Hillman Racing also will be leveraging its assets to bring additional partners to join the cause-related marketing program in an attempt to increase awareness of nabi Inspire.
"Landon Cassill is a promising, young, talented driver that exhibits real potential to be a top 10 NASCAR driver; however, we chose to sponsor Landon's number 40 car because of his impeccable character and dedication to co-invest in supporting and creating awareness for autism! We are excited to join the NASCAR community and proud to sponsor Landon Cassill," said Jim Mitchell, CEO of Fuhu.
Fuhu's signature product and sponsor headliner is the nabi brand. Leading that ecosystem is the nabi tablet, the first full-featured Android tablet made just for kids - designed and created to deliver the best and most enriching, entertaining and educational experiences. Corporately, Fuhu has already had a successful year after being named by Forbes Magazine as America's Most Promising Company. In 2013, Inc. Magazine named Fuhu, America's #1 Fastest Growing Company, and PC Magazine named nabi the best tablet for kids. Also earlier this year, Fuhu unveiled, their newest state-of-the-art tablet, the DreamTab, slated to launch this spring. The DreamTab was designed from the ground-up just for kids and built in partnership with DreamWorks Animation and Intel.
"Fuhu creates high-quality products that are both innovative and family friendly. As the father of a young daughter, this means a lot to me. I'm looking forward to collaborating with Fuhu this season both on the track and with any donations my team is able to make on their behalf as well as helping to raise awareness to the cause," said Landon Cassill.(Hillman Racing Facebook), see images of the scheme on the #40 Team schemes page.(2-23-2014)

CRC Industries to Showcase K&W FiberLock on #40 in two races:CRC Industries, Inc. has announced that it will showcase its widely-accepted cooling system additive, K&W FIBERLOCK Head Gasket & Block Repair, on a full car wrap on the #40 Hillman Racing Chevrolet SS at two upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events. A manufacturer of chemical specialties for maintenance and repair professionals and do-it-yourselfers, CRC is the primary sponsor of the #40 Chevrolet SS driven by Landon Cassill for the Hillman Racing team for these events. K&W FIBERLOCK is a pour-in repair additive that can permanently seal cracks and leaks in head gaskets, engine blocks, freeze plugs, cylinder heads and radiators. Designed for do-it-yourselfers as well as automotive repair technicians, K&W FIBERLOCK prevents an expensive repair on a vehicle that is not worth the cost of the service.
"If your car is one on which you'd rather not spend a hefty sum in repairs, K&W FIBERLOCK provides a quick, easy-to-use - and inexpensive - solution," said Adam Selisker, CRC vice president of technology. "K&W FIBERLOCK uses thermochemical sodium silicate reinforced with military-strength fibers to create a web-like weave over the crack for a multi-layer repair. The crack could cause a hot spot from all the pressure being released in that area. This extra pressure is going to force more product into the damaged area of the cooling system and the hot spot will aid in the FIBERLOCK curing process. Also, the air introduced from the flaw in the cooling system helps the sodium silicate to solidify, making it a permanent repair." Easy to use, K&W FIBERLOCK does not require you to drain the cooling system first as in the case of many other cooling system additives on the market today. Just pour and go.
K&W FIBERLOCK will be featured on a full car wrap on the #40 Hillman Racing Chevrolet SS at Phoenix in March and Auto Club Speedway in March.
According to Mike Hillman, Sr., owner of Hillman Racing, "The race track is an unforgiving testing ground, and the CRC chemical products used in the maintenance of our race cars have always helped us rise to the challenge."
"The labor required to remove and repair the cracked part of an engine can be extensive," said Selisker. "FIBERLOCK uses nanotechnology to reach into the tiniest crevices, making the molecular bond stronger and permanently hardened to the surface area. FIBERLOCK is a great alternative to a costly engine repair, and it is backed by CRC's double-your-money-back guarantee." K&W FIBERLOCK is available at Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, NAPA Auto Parts, Pep Boys and Wal-Mart.(PR Newswire)(2-18-2014)
Cassill to return to Circle Sport in 2014: Cedar Rapids (Iowa) native Landon Cassill has finalized plans for full-time rides in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series for 2014. Cassill will return to Circle Sport [ran #33 & #40 in 2013] in Sprint Cup, and will take over the #4 car for JD Motorsports in Nationwide, though logistical issues with Cup commitments may cause him to miss a few Nationwide races. He ran 33 of the 36 races in 2013 for Circle Sport in Cup, and 23 of the 30 races in a separate entry for JD Motorsports in Nationwide. "(Running both series) keeps me on the racetrack, it's more opportunities for me to show my skills to potential sponsors," Cassill said. "It's really valuable for me to be running in both series every weekend.(The Gazette)(12-18-2013)
Cassill gets Texas sponsor: Hillman Racing and Joe Falk announced that Pirate Oilfield Services, a top competitor in the oil and gas sector, will sponsor Landon Cassill and the #40 Sprint Cup Series entry at Texas Motor Speedway in the AAA Texas 500. With over 50 years in the oil and gas business, Midland, Texas-based Pirate Oilfield Services' recognizable logo will be displayed on the hood and rear quarter panels of Cassill's #40 Chevy SS in next Sunday's eighth race of the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. "This partnership is something that developed at the spring race in Texas," said Landon Cassill, the 24-year-old former development driver for Hendrick Motorsports and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native. "The guys at Pirate Oilfield Services are big NASCAR fans that don't miss a race at Texas Motor Speedway, and we're hoping this unique paint scheme will attract a few more sponsors to come along for the ride."(Hillman Racing), see an image of the car on the #40 team paint schemes page.(10-27-2013)
Moon Shine Attitude Attire Joins Hillman Racing to Go Pink in October: Hillman Racing announced that Moon Shine, LP, a premium designer of Moon Shine Attitude Attire, will kick off the first race of a two-race NASCAR Sprint Cup Series sponsorship this weekend at Kansas Speedway by turning the #40 Chevrolet SS pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with its Muddy Girl-branded camouflage pattern. From now through October 31, Moon Shine Attitude Attire will donate one dollar from the sale of every Muddy Girl shirt and hoodie sold trackside to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, an independent 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. Tony Raines will pilot the #40 Moon Shine Attitude Attire Chevrolet in Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 with Landon Cassill scheduled to drive the #40 the following week in the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.(Mike Hillman Racing), see images of the scheme on the #40 Team Schemes page.(10-3-2013)
Cassill to drive #40 Moon Shine Attitude Attire Chevy at Bristol: Hillman Racing announced that Moon Shine, LP, a premium designer of Moon Shine Attitude Attire, will engulf the #40 Chevrolet SS in its Wildfire-branded camouflage pattern this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway in a specially designed vehicle wrap. Landon Cassill, who has split time between the #33 and #40 Sprint Cup entries this season, will pilot the #40 Moon Shine Attitude Attire Chevrolet in Saturday night's Irwin Tools Race Night (Tony Raines is in the #33). "We wrapped a car earlier this season in the Wildfire Camo pattern and I couldn't believe the amount of attention it received from the fans at the race track," stated Hillman Racing team owner Mike Hillman, Sr. "With NASCAR's new rules allowing full-pattern wraps, this will be the second time this season that we've worked with Moon Shine to help bring attention to their line of camouflage apparel that the NASCAR fans really seem to enjoy. We've had a lot of requests to run this scheme again, so we thought where better but under the lights at Bristol on Saturday night."(Mike Hillman Racing), see an image of the scheme on the #40 Team Schemes page.(8-23-2013)
Cassill returns to the #40 at Pocono; Raines in the #33: Following a successful debut in the #40 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past weekend, driver Landon Cassill will once again pilot the #40 Sprint Cup Series entry with sponsorship from Interstate Moving Services in the GoBowling.com 400 at Pocono Raceway on Sunday. With a solid 29th-place qualifying effort to lock into the 43-car Brickyard 400 field, Cassill will drive that same car with support from Richard Childress Racing and ECR Engines this weekend. Tony Raines will fill the seat of the #33 Circle Sport Chevrolet, marking his first Sprint Cup Series start of the 2013 season. Raines has competed in four NASCAR Nationwide Series races this season, and drove two Sprint Cup races for the Joe Falk-owned Circle Sport Racing #33 in 2012.
"It's our intention to run the #40 in select Sprint Cup races throughout the remainder of the 2013 season, and last weekend was a successful launch of that program with the Morrissettes and Interstate Moving Services." said Joe Falk. "Landon did a great job locking the 40 car into the field with no owner points to fall back on, and we're taking that same car to Pocono this weekend with support from Interstate Moving Services, RCR and ECR, so we're confident that Landon will once again be able to qualify the car in the top 36. The Interstate Moving Services Chevy is a great looking car and I'm glad we're able to take it to Pocono where we hope to improve upon the finish we had last week in Indy. As long as we continue to see sponsor interest in the 40 program we will continue to field it and build that program."(CircleSport)(7-30-2013)
Cassill gets sponsor for Indy: Interstate Moving Services announced its sponsorship of driver Landon Cassill and the #40 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 20th running of the Brickyard 400. Cassill, who has competed in 16 of the 19 Sprint Cup events this season for Circle Sport Racing in the #33 Chevy, will switch to the #40 with Austin Dillon scheduled to drive the #33 in Sunday's race. "The addition of Interstate Moving Services as sponsor of Landon and the #40 is the final piece of the puzzle," said Joe Falk. "It's our intention to field the #40 in a handful of races throughout the remainder of the season, and it's important for us to start this endeavor out strong. We secured a brand new race car from Richard Childress Racing with ECR power under the hood, so we are going all-in at Indy."
Celebrating its 70th anniversary, Arthur Morrissette originally founded Interstate Moving Services in Washington, D.C., in 1943. The organization has seen tremendous change and evolution over seven decades of business, and during that time, one constant has remained a focus... to deliver quality "Top Hat Service" to each and every customer. Through three generations of family ownership and management, Interstate pledges to remain at the leading edge of training, methods and innovation while striving to deliver excellence to all of our customers without exception.(Circle Sport / Mike Hillman Racing), see image of the scheme on the #40 Team Schemes page.(7-24-2013)
Cassill to drive #40 in select races: The #40 will once again compete on the Sprint Cup Series circuit when Landon Cassill pilots the joint effort for team owners Joe Falk and Mike Hillman. Beginning with the upcoming Brickyard 400, the #40 will run select Sprint Cup races throughout the remainder of the 2013 season. Cassill, who has competed in 15 of the 18 Sprint Cup events this season for Circle Sport Racing in the #33 Chevy SS, will switch to the # 40 with Austin Dillon scheduled to drive the #33 in the Brickyard 400. "With ABC and ESPN picking up the Sprint Cup television broadcasts beginning with Indy, including three network primetime events, we felt the opportunity was right to field the # 40 car at select venues for the remainder of the season," Joe Falk said. "Mike Hillman has done a herculean task of getting our Gen-6 program up to speed with help from Landon and Richard Childress Racing, and it was a point of pride when Landon started alongside race-winner Tony Stewart at Dover earlier this season. We believe fielding the #40 allows companies looking at the sport that thought only a Truck or Nationwide sponsorship was in their budget to now have the opportunity to showcase their brands on the sport's biggest stage."(Circle Sport)(7-12-2013)
Waltrip to attempt Daytona 500: Hillman Racing and Aaron's Inc. announced that two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip will drive the #40 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota in the 2012 Daytona 500 on Feb. 26. The race will mark Waltrip's 75th start at Daytona in one of NASCAR's top three touring series (Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World trucks) - the most of any driver. "Aaron's really does make your dreams come true," said Waltrip. "When I was a kid thinking about racing in Daytona I never dreamed I would start more NASCAR races there than anyone. That's amazing." He said it takes many factors for success.
"You have to have a great sponsor to race and Aaron's has been a great sponsor for a long time." Waltrip said. "I appreciate what the folks at Hillman Racing including Joe Falk are putting together. Hopefully my experience at Daytona will help them get out of the gate strong with their new team." Daytona's 2012 Speedweeks promises to be busy for Waltrip. He'll race the #55 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota in the Feb. 18 Budweiser Shootout, oversee his three Sprint Cup teams at Michael Waltrip Racing and host several top executives from corporate America attending the races with the team. Waltrip will also continue his television work serving as a commentator for SPEED-TV's truck series broadcasts and begin his new role as an analyst for the Fox NASCAR Sunday broadcasts joining his brother and Hall of Fame member Darrell Waltrip. Aaron's Chief Operating Officer Ken Butler said the chance to have Waltrip drive the #40 and Mark Martin drive MWR's #55 Aaron's Dream Machines in the Daytona 500 is too good of an opportunity to miss. Hillman Racing is making its NASCAR debut this season, but the organization is anything but new to the sport. Team owner Mike Hillman Sr. played a key role in the founding of Germain Racing [was listed as the owner of the #60 Toyota in 2011 fielded by Germain Racing] and was the architect of the group's two NASCAR championships in 2006 and 2010. Hillman acquired the championship-winning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series assets following the conclusion of the 2011 season and is set to embark as the owner and general manager of Hillman Racing for the 2012 season.
"I can't think of a better way to start off the season than to have Michael Waltrip behind the wheel of our car at Daytona," said Hillman, who credits longtime friend and co-owner Joe Falk [was the owner of the #50 in 2011] for the inclusion of the Cup program under the Hillman Racing banner. "I've been in this sport a long time, but I've never been so excited to go to Daytona. To have two Daytona 500 champions at the start of the season - with Ward Burton in the truck and Michael in the Cup car - positions Hillman Racing for a strong debut and a chance to win both races."(Hillman Racing - MWR)(2-13-2012)
60 car parked for rest of season: per Sirius-Speedway.com / MRN announcer Dave Moody's twitter (@DGodfatherMoody). Moody was asked "is [Mike] Skinner out of the #60 or did they skip this weekend?" Moody replied: The car is parked for the year. The #60 is not on the entry list for Talladega.(10-19-2011)
Germain may switch manufacturers: Germain Racing [#13 GEICO Toyota & #60 Big Red Toyota] majority owner Bob Germain told Sirius XM NASCAR Radio's Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody that his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team may not return to the Toyota camp in 2012. "There is a possibility that we might not be a Toyota team next year," said Germain. "I never thought we'd be running anything but a Toyota, but I'm not sure we're going to be able to get on the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) engine program. We wanted to buy TRD motors for next year's Sprint Cup effort, but with Joe Gibbs Racing getting out of the engine business at the end of this year, I'm not sure we're going to be able to get our engines from TRD." Germain explained that TRD will have the capacity to build six sets of Sprint Cup Series engines next season. JGR's trio of Camrys driven by Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano accounts for three sets and Michael Waltrip Racing's Martin Truex, Jr. and David Reutimann account for two more. That leaves one engine set to be allotted, without accounting for MWR's expected third 2012 entry driven by Clint Bowyer, or JTG Daugherty Racing and driver Bobby Labonte. "Toyota has told us they will try to work something out," said Germain, "but it's not certain. There is a possibility that we may have to look elsewhere. We had already promised GEICO that we would go with TRD engines next year (after running Triad power in the past), and they were really excited about that. I never thought there would be a problem doing it, but now apparently, there is." Germain said he has already spoken to other manufacturers about possible 2012 alliances. "We went out and looked around little bit," he said. "We talked to Ford Racing and we talked to Rick Hendrick a while back, just to see what's out there and how their programs work. My hope is still to stay with Toyota, but we may not be able to do so."(Sirius Speedway)(10-1-2011)
Germain teams up with Native American Businessman: Sirius XM NASCAR Radio's Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody has learned that Germain Racing majority owner Bob German will form a new NASCAR National Series team in conjunction with Naples, Fla., resident O.B. Osceola, Jr. The team, to be called Germain-Osceola Racing, hopes to field an entry in 2012 on the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide or Camping World Truck Series in 2012 for a still unnamed driver, with backing projected to come from from a number of Native American tribes. Osceola is President of Pro Investment Group International and CEO of Pro Games, LLC, and has been instrumental in constructing and managing a number of large-scale projects for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, including fundraising and construction for Florida's Immokalee Casino, and overseeing the tribe's ownership of the worldwide Hard Rock and Hollywood Hotel/Casino franchises. Germain said the new team operate as a subsidiary of Germain Racing, with sponsorship flowing - at least for now -- into the existing race team, which fields Sprint Cup Toyota Camrys for #13-Casey Mears, #60-Mike Skinner and #50-TJ Bell, and Camping World Truck Series Tundras for former series champion Todd Bodine, Brendan Gaughan and Max Papis. He said Germain-Osceola Racing will make its NASCAR debut later this season, fielding a Hard Rock Vodka-sponsored Nationwide Series entry in the 2011 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "That will be done as part of a launch for a new, Hard Rock-branded Vodka that's coming out," said Germain. "There are a lot of good things going on there, and I really think we're onto something. It's something new for NASCAR, and I think we're going to see a lot of good things come out of this program."(Sirius Speedway)(8-23-2011)
Big Red to sponsor 3 different manufacturers at Kentucky: Big Red Inc. will be making history at the Inaugural Kentucky NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race this weekend. For the first time ever, Big Red will be the primary sponsor for three cars from three different manufacturers in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race. Mike Skinner will pilot the #60 Big Red Toyota for Germain Racing, Mike Bliss will be behind the wheel of the #32 Big Red Ford for FAS Lane Racing, and Dave Blaney will pilot the #36 Big Red Chevy for Tommy Baldwin Racing in the first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at the Kentucky Speedway. The Kentucky region has been a heartland for Big Red soda for the past 74 years. The company wants to reach fans on a higher level than just consumption; they want them to feel the pride through their greatest passions-Big Red and NASCAR.(Big Red PR)(7-6-2011)
Cassill to drive the #09 at Auto Club: Landon Cassill will return to the driver's seat of the team's Sprint Cup car, the #09 Chevy, beginning this weekend at Auto Club Speedway. Team owner James Finch said he appreciates the contributions of Bill Elliott, who drove the #09 car in the first four Sprint Cup races of 2011 and helped the team achieve its goal of locking in a spot among the top 35 in car owner points, which assures starting positions for upcoming races. With one race remaining before the switch to this year's points, Phoenix is 26th in the standings, with a comfortable margin over the 36th-place team. "I am very thankful for what Bill has done for my team and sponsors to date, and we look forward to him running races later on this season," Finch said. In the meantime, Elliott plans to focus on working with his 15-year-old son Chase, who recently signed a driver agreement with Sprint Cup team owner Rick Hendrick.(Phoenix PR/Bill Elliott site), no word who will drive the #60 Toyota that Cassill was listed to drive at Auto Club.(3-22-2011)

Germain, Landon Cassill to run full season: UPDATE: Building on their heritage in motorsports, Big Red and ALL SPORT Body Quencher return to Sprint Cup competition in 2011 with a full time entry in the Sprint Cup series. Landon Cassill will drive the #60 car beginning with the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 Sprint Cup Series Race at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend and will race for the full season. Launched in 1937, Big Red, with its distinctive flavor and widespread distribution in 44 states, was one of the nation's fastest growing soft drink brands in 2010. ALL SPORT is one of the nation's leading sports drinks and has an extensive history in motorsports including Tommy Kendall's Championship in the Trans Am series.(Co-Pilott Motorsports Marketing)(2-24-2011)
UPDATE: Despite the agreement, the team is apparently still in need of additional sponsorship to continue. Landon Cassil tweeted, "Great week, Big Red colors on the #60 car, still [start & park] but hopefully opportunities keep coming. gotta keep working, it's still week to week."(2-26-2011)
Todd Bodine to run three races at Daytona: Todd Bodine will compete in all three NASCAR divisions in next month's Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway. Bodine will race his championship-winning #30 in the Feb. 18 Truck race; the Nationwide [#15] car, which is locked into the field for the Feb. 19 season opener thanks to Michael Annett's 14th-place finish in the 2010 owners' points; and owner Larry Gunselman's #64, which has a technical alliance with the Germains, in the qualifying rounds for the 53rd Daytona 500. Bodine will spend the first day of next week's three-day Sprint Cup test at Daytona. Bodine said there was sponsorship in place for all three programs, which has yet to be announced. Bodine tested with Gunselman's team for two days last month at Goodyear's tire test and said "we're going to race the whole race."(NASCAR.com)(1-13-2011)
