  • Bell looking forward to road course return: LTD Powersport driver T.J. Bell, a veteran of the NASCAR ranks, began his racing career on road courses. His last road course event was the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003. To say he is excited about his first NASCAR road course event would be an understatement. Bell took a preview tour of Watkins Glen with the Skip Barber Racing School, and feels he's learned what he'll need to know for his debut at the New York road course. In addition to representing Miami-based Green Smoke, Bell will race for a special cause. He recently formed an alliance with the Helping Early Responders Organization (H.E.R.O.). H.E.R.O.'s primary mission is to support and assist the non-profit organizations that help the men and women who are firefighters, police officers, E.M.T.s, members of our armed services and their families in their time of greatest need. Bell and Green Smoke will host these heroes as their trackside guests. The Watkins Glen H.E.R.O. will be Captain Dennis H. Knowles and the non-profit organization that H.E.R.O. will feature is Soldiers' Angels.(T.J. Bell PR)(8-11-2011)

  • Bell to run Sprint Showdown: Bandit Industries will once again be turning laps on Saturday, only this time it will be with Sprint Cup driver T.J. Bell and LTD Powersports at the forthcoming Sprint Cup Showdown, taking place May 21 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bell drive the #50 Bandit Industries Toyota Camry to try to gain one of the two remaining spots for the ensuing NASCAR All-Star raceand a chance at a million-dollar prize. "Being able to support LTD Powersports and run in the Sprint Showdown is just huge for us," said Bandit Industries Large Equipment Sales Manager Travis Lint. "This is an exciting event to be a part of, and we know T.J. will give Bandit fans something to cheer about." Though new to Sprint Cup racing, Bell is a veteran NASCAR truck series driver and ARCA Rookie of the Year from 2004. Prior to that, his racing portfolio includes considerable success in the CART Toyota Championship, and he's also competed in every major worldwide auto endurance race, including the 24 Hours of Lemans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. Bell's Sprint Cup debut took place May 7 at the Southern 500 in Darlington, where he qualified and spent 67 laps on track to get a feel for the new Bandit Industries Toyota. The team's debut was low key, as their goal at Darlington was to simply run a few laps for testing and shakedown, and to qualify for a spot in the Showdown, which among other things requires participants to have at least participated in a NASCAR Sprint Cup event prior to the race. Also involved with LTD Powersports is the Megan Meier Foundation, founded after the death of 14-year old Megan Meier back in 2006. The unfortunate victim of cyberbulling, Meier's tragic story received national attention and raised awareness to the dangers of bulling and cyberbulling, not just for youth but adults as well. • T.J. Bell gets sponsor to attempt Coke 600: Green Smoke, one of the nation's leading electronic cigarette brands, announced that it will sponsor T.J. Bell in the 52nd running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 29th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Bell, who is known to NASCAR fans in the Camping World Truck and Nationwide Series, will pilot the #50 Green Smoke Toyota Camry in his first attempt to qualify for NASCAR's longest race. Green Smoke's sponsorship of Bell will mark its first NASCAR endeavor, as well as the first NASCAR sponsorship by any organization within the electronic cigarette industry. "Every driver goes into racing wanting to compete at the highest level possible. Green Smoke has come on board to make racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series a reality for me and I'm looking forward to putting our #50 Green Smoke Toyota Camry to the test at Charlotte," said Bell, who currently resides in Mooresville, NC. "This is a big step forward for my career and Green Smoke couldn't have picked a more perfect market to promote its product. I'm looking forward to a great future with Green Smoke and a very exciting Coca-Cola 600 debut." Green Smoke will sponsor Bell's #50 Toyota Camry for at least three Sprint Cup events this season [no word on the other two races).(Green Smoke/Breaking Limits), see an image of the scheme on the #50 Team Schemes page.(5-10-2011)
