Looks like Carquest will not return in 2012. Martin was signed thru 2011 with Hendrick and moves to Michael Waltrip Racing in 2012 & 2013.

Attempted and made the Daytona 500. Says he plans to run the full 2012 season (2-24-2012). Will attempt to run the Daytona 500 with MAPEI as the sponsor. RGM now builds the engines in house with Joey Arrington heading that program (2-15-2012). Didn't test at Daytona in January and has not announced any 2012 plans for the team (1-23-2012). Gordon says he plans to run some 2012 races, depending on sponsorship and has no plans to give up the car #7 for Stewart Haas Racing's 3rd team and Danica Patrick (8-26-2011).

Stewart-Haas Racing partners with Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) where TBR will field the #10 GoDaddy.com Chevy for all 10 of Patrick’s Cup Series races in 2012. The alliance guarantees a starting spot for Patrick in her Sprint Cup debut – the Daytona 500. TBR’s #36 car, which finished the 2011 season 33rd in owners points, becomes the #10 for 2012. For the 26 races where Patrick is not scheduled to drive, David Reutimann will pilot the #10 car. TBR has sponsorship inventory available for these 26 races. Patrick’s 10-race Sprint Cup schedule is as follows: Daytona in Feb; Darlington in May, Charlotte in May; Bristol in Aug; Atlanta, Chicago and Dover in Sept; Texas and Phoenix in Nov; one race is TDC (1-31-2012). Longtime JGR #20 crew chief Greg Zipadelli named Competition Director for Stewart-Haas Racing (12-16-2011). Patrick's Sprint Cup schedule was announced in Texas on Nov. 4th. Patrick will attempt 10 Sprint Cup races, with the first being the Daytona 500, then attempt races at Darlington and Charlotte in May; Bristol in August; Atlanta, Chicago and Dover in September; and Texas and Phoenix in November and one TBD. Patrick will run the #10, which she ran in her early racing career in karting (11-4-2011). The car will not use the #7 as Robby Gordon said he is not giving up the car number (9-1-2011). Stewart looking for another driver to run part time and allow the team to run full time schedule. (9-1-2011). Patrick will run full time in the Nationwide Series for JR Motorsports and run a limited schedule in Sprint Cup for Stewart-Haas Racing (8-28-2011)

Darian Grubb named the new crew chief on Dec 9th (12-9-2011). Crew Chief Mike Ford was released on Dec 6th, no word on his plans. Grubb is rumored to be the new crew chief for Hamlin (12-6-2011). JGR and will merge its engine dept with Toyota Racing Development starting in 2012 (8-11-2011). No word on any changes, supposedly a contract year with FedEx, they returned in 2011 and no indication FedEx will not be back in 2012, no word when Hamlin's contract ends, but no rumors of him looking or being a free agent in 2012 or 2013 (7-31-2011)

Longtime JGR #20 crew chief Greg Zipadelli named Competition Director for Stewart-Haas Racing (12-16-2011). Steve Addington named the crew chief for Stewart, Grubb looks like he will leave SHR and go to another team (11-29-2011). Grubb was told after Charlotte in Oct that he would not return as Stewart's crew chief. He could be promoted within the team, move over the SHR's 3rd team with Danica Patrick or leave and go to another team such as Hendrick Motorsports or Michael Waltrip Racing. Steve Addington is rumored to be the new crew chief (11-20-2011). All indications are that Grubb stays as the crew chief in 2012. #20 JGR crew chief Greg Zipadelli was rumored but JGR expects to retain him in 2012 (10-26-2011). Supposedly Mobil 1 signed a long term deal starting in 2011. No word on plans for Office Depot or Burger King. Rumors have Gibbs Racing crew chief, Greg Zipadelli, could move to the #14 team with current crew chief Darien Grubb moving into a Team Manager role, replacing Bobby Hutchins, released in June 2011

Supposedly some crew guys will be from Red Bull Racing (12-5-2011). Bowyer named as the driver for the third MWR team, with 5-hour Energy as the sponsor for around 20 races. No word on a crew chief for Bowyer. No word if Waltrip will still run a few races in 2012 like he has the past few seasons. Bowyer signed a 3-year deal, 2012-2014.(10-7-2011).

Best Buy moves over from the #43 RPM Ford to the #17 for 9 races and the #99 for 2 races in 2012 (12-20-2011). Looks like Valvoline will sponsor Kenseth in a few 2012 race (10-29-2011). Crown Royal announced on June 28th that they would not return to sponsor the #17 in 2012 and is leaving NASCAR. Affliction Clothing sponsors the car for four races in 2011 (6-28-2011). Kenseth is signed thru at least 2012.

JGR and will merge its engine dept with Toyota Racing Development starting in 2012 (8-11-2011). JGR signed Busch to a new multi-year contract good thru at least 2012, but no end year was mentioned. Supposedly M&M's / Mars will return as primary sponsor. No word on Interstate Batteries, but they are expected back (7-31-2011).

Ratcliff named the crew chief Dec 16th replacing longtime crew chief Greg Zipadelli who left to become Competition Director for Stewart-Haas Racing (12-16-2011). Dollar General to come aboard to sponsor in 10-12 races with Home Depot taking the remainder (10-11-2011). All indications are that Home Depot will stay at JGR in some capacity and Logano in the #20 after rumors of Carl Edwards coming over to JGR before re-signing with Roush Fenway Racing. JGR expects Greg Zipadelli to stay as the crew chief (8-5-2011). JGR and will merge its engine dept with Toyota Racing Development starting in 2012 (8-11-2011). Carl Edwards was rumored to this ride with Logano possibly going in to a 4th JGR ride in 2012 with a different sponsor BUT Edwards re-signed with Roush Racing. No word if JGR would bring another driver in or expand if Edwards is not available (8-4-2011). Crew chief Greg Zipadelli could leave and head to Stewart Haas Racing as Stewart's crew chief in 2012 (6-16-2011)

A.J. Allmendinger named the driver for 2012 on Dec 21 (12-21-2011). Todd Gordon named the new crew chief on Dec 14th. Gordon was the crew chief for the #22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger in the Nationwide Series for Penske and Brad Keselowski in 2011 (12-14-2011). Penske Racing announced that it has reached a mutual agreement with driver Kurt Busch to end its driver/race team relationship, effective immediately. Busch had been signed thru at least 2014. The team will evaluate its options for the driver of the #22 Sprint Cup Series car in the future while Busch will seek new opportunities with another race team. Rumors have David Reagan, formerly of the #6 Roush Fenway Racing team signing on for a one-year deal. No word where Busch may end up (12-5-2011). Rumors broke Sunday night, Dec 4th, that Penske was going to release Busch, suppsoedly a decision will be on Monday Dec 5th (12-4-2011). Steve Addington left at end of the season and signed on to be the new crew chief for #14-Tony Stewart. No word on any candidates for the crew chief job on the #22 (11-28-2011). Shell-Pennzoil moved over to Penske Racing in 2011 for a long term deal, supposedly thru at least 2014.

Scott Riggs will run the races after Daytona. The team plans to evaluate after five races to see how close it is to the top-35 and if it will continue to run all the races in 2012 (2-12-2012). Plans to attempt the full Sprint Cup Series schedule in 2012 and run a partial schedule in the Nationwide Series. Robertson Jr. is scheduled to run the Daytona 500 with North Texas Pipe as the sponsor in a Toyota, after that, the team will run Chevy. The team purchased Chevy's from Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.(1-3-2012)

DuPont and Pepsi return in 2012, but expect both to return. Gordon is signed to a long term 'lifetime' deal with Hendrick, says he plans to drive at least thru 2013.

Team plans to run Wise in most of the 2012 races, going for rookie of the year and trying to get the tema in the top 35 of owners points (2-29-2012) Raines qualified and made the Daytona 500, Rick Santorum for President was the sponsor at Daytona (2-25-2012). Tony Raines is listed as the driver for the Daytona 500 attempt (2-16-2012). Plans to attempt to make the Daytona 500 with sponsorship from MDS. Landon Cassill was named as the driver but that has changed as Cassill announced he took another un-named ride [ended up being the #83 BK Racing ride]. The team ran some races in 2011 using the #55 with Travis Kvapil and J.J. Yeley and is not in the top-35 of owners points. No word of plans after the Daytona 500 or who the crew chief will be (2-2-2012). No word if this team returns in 2012 after running 15 races in 2011 with Yeley, Kvapil and Jeff Green. The #55 will be run by MWR in 2012, so if the team returns, it'll need a new car number (11-29-2011). Ingersoll Rand sponsored the car and Kvapil at Charlotte in Oct (10-13-2011). A 4th Front Row Motorsports started as of New Hampshire in July where Jeff Green made the race. J.J. Yeley will run the car for the remainder of the 2011 season and a few races in FRM's #38 and need to qualify on speed each week. Derrick Finley, their competition director, is listed as the crew chief. FRM's 4th car, the #37, is being leased by Larry Gunselman, with support for FRM (7-16-2011). HP Racing ran the #55 in 2010 but is not in 2011, running just the one car, #66 Toyota.

Stremme ran select races in 2011 and the team plans to make a full run in 2012, looking for a sponsor. Inception Motorsports is based in Mooresville, N.C., and is privately funded through the Inception Investment Group (6-20-2011)

Wheaties moves over from RCR's #33 team to sponsor for 6 races. Caterpillar will sponsor the car for 24 races in 2012 (10-5-2011). Luke Lambert took over as crew chief after NHMS in July 2011 (7-25-2011). Caterpillar & Burton re-sign a multi-year deal, probably 2-3 years (4-19-2011)

Labonte will run at least the Daytona 500 and is locked in. Made points deal with MWR, so the #55 MWR team gets the #32 ownersa points. Terry Labonte will run the car in the Daytona 500 and use his Champions provisional if needed. Then SUPPOSEDLY, the team made a deal to get the owners points from the #6 RFR team, so it would be guaranteeded spots in the first five races (2-14-2012). Ken Schrader scheduled to run in at least nine races during the season with Federated Auto Parts as the sponsor, with the first one being Las Vegas, although the Daytona 500 could still be a possibility. The team has no plans to run the Bud Shootout unless a sponsor comes aboard who wants to. No word if Terry Labonte will run any races, the team is talking to himLabonte to run some races in 2012. No word on other dirvers. But the team plans to run the same type of varied lineup in 2012 that it did in 2011 (1-12-2012). T.J. Bell, Mike Bliss, Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte were among the drivers for the team in 2011 (11-25-2011). After starting the team in 2011 and getting in the top 35 after five races, the team used many different drivers with different sponsors. So expect the team to return, no word on the plans or sponsorship

Pemberton comes aboard as the crew chief for Blaney (2-6-2012). Crew chief Philippe Lopez left to take the Richard Petty Motorsports Nationwide Series team job (2-3-2012). Blaney will drive this car, which is not in the top-35 of owners points full time in 2012. David Reutimann and Danica Patick will share the #10 Chevy ride, which will use the #36 owners points and gaurantee the car in the first five races of 2012, including Patrick in the Daytona 500. Blaney will run the #36 using 2011 #35 Owners Points (1-31-2012). Looks like Philippe Lopez will stay with Blaney, Reutimann is set for 26 races so far. TBR has re-signed to get engines from Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines in 2012 (1-3-2011). Attempted and ran a few races in 2011 with Steve Park, Stephen Leicht and Geoff Bodine. Was the 2nd TBR team to the #36 Chevy in 2011.

Failed to make the Daytona 500 (2-23-2012). Plan to run full season with Mike Wallace at Daytona on Feb. Timmy Hill will take over the ride a few races in, likely at Martinsville, Auto Club or Texas. Rick Ware Racing joined forces with Mex Q and Gunselman (2-15-2012). Undecided on driver for 2012, supposedly will employ a few drivers in 2012. Had announced Josh Wise would run for rookie of the year, but supposedly is looking at other drivers to run some races in 2012 (1-23-2012). Team plans to run the full 2012 season with Josh Wise running for rookie of the year (10-19-2011). Gunselman took over ownership of the team in August 2011. Larry Gunselman leased the car / team in 2011. The team fell out of the top 35 in owners points and missed some races in 2011 as a start-and-parker.
