| Stewart-Haas Racing partners with Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) where TBR will field the #10 GoDaddy.com Chevy for all 10 of Patrick’s Cup Series races in 2012. The alliance guarantees a starting spot for Patrick in her Sprint Cup debut – the Daytona 500. TBR’s #36 car, which finished the 2011 season 33rd in owners points, becomes the #10 for 2012. For the 26 races where Patrick is not scheduled to drive, David Reutimann will pilot the #10 car. TBR has sponsorship inventory available for these 26 races. Patrick’s 10-race Sprint Cup schedule is as follows: Daytona in Feb; Darlington in May, Charlotte in May; Bristol in Aug; Atlanta, Chicago and Dover in Sept; Texas and Phoenix in Nov; one race is TDC (1-31-2012). Longtime JGR #20 crew chief Greg Zipadelli named Competition Director for Stewart-Haas Racing (12-16-2011). Patrick's Sprint Cup schedule was announced in Texas on Nov. 4th. Patrick will attempt 10 Sprint Cup races, with the first being the Daytona 500, then attempt races at Darlington and Charlotte in May; Bristol in August; Atlanta, Chicago and Dover in September; and Texas and Phoenix in November and one TBD. Steve Addington named the crew chief for Stewart, Grubb looks like he will leave SHR and go to another team (11-29-2011). Grubb was told after Charlotte in Oct that he would not return as Stewart's crew chief. All indications are that Home Depot will stay at JGR in some capacity and Logano in the #20 after rumors of Carl Edwards coming over to JGR before re-signing with Roush Fenway Racing. JGR expects Greg Zipadelli to stay as the crew chief (8-5-2011). JGR and will merge its engine dept with Toyota Racing Development starting in 2012 (8-11-2011). | A.J. Allmendinger named the driver for 2012 on Dec 21 (12-21-2011). Todd Gordon named the new crew chief on Dec 14th. Gordon was the crew chief for the #22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger in the Nationwide Series for Penske and Brad Keselowski in 2011 (12-14-2011). Penske Racing announced that it has reached a mutual agreement with driver Kurt Busch to end its driver/race team relationship, effective immediately. Busch had been signed thru at least 2014. The team will evaluate its options for the driver of the #22 Sprint Cup Series car in the future while Busch will seek new opportunities with another race team. Rumors have David Reagan, formerly of the #6 Roush Fenway Racing team signing on for a one-year deal. No word where Busch may end up (12-5-2011). Rumors broke Sunday night, Dec 4th, that Penske was going to release Busch, suppsoedly a decision will be on Monday Dec 5th (12-4-2011). Steve Addington left at end of the season and signed on to be the new crew chief for #14-Tony Stewart. No word on any candidates for the crew chief job on the #22 (11-28-2011). | Team plans to run Wise in most of the 2012 races, going for rookie of the year and trying to get the tema in the top 35 of owners points (2-29-2012) Raines qualified and made the Daytona 500, Rick Santorum for President was the sponsor at Daytona (2-25-2012). Tony Raines is listed as the driver for the Daytona 500 attempt (2-16-2012). Plans to attempt to make the Daytona 500 with sponsorship from MDS. Landon Cassill was named as the driver but that has changed as Cassill announced he took another un-named ride [ended up being the #83 BK Racing ride]. The team ran some races in 2011 using the #55 with Travis Kvapil and J.J. Yeley and is not in the top-35 of owners points. No word of plans after the Daytona 500 or who the crew chief will be (2-2-2012). No word if this team returns in 2012 after running 15 races in 2011 with Yeley, Kvapil and Jeff Green. The #55 will be run by MWR in 2012, so if the team returns, it'll need a new car number (11-29-2011). Ingersoll Rand sponsored the car and Kvapil at Charlotte in Oct (10-13-2011). A 4th Front Row Motorsports started as of New Hampshire in July where Jeff Green made the race. J.J. Yeley will run the car for the remainder of the 2011 season and a few races in FRM's #38 and need to qualify on speed each week. Derrick Finley, their competition director, is listed as the crew chief. FRM's 4th car, the #37, is being leased by Larry Gunselman, with support for FRM (7-16-2011). Terry Labonte will run the car in the Daytona 500 and use his Champions provisional if needed. Then SUPPOSEDLY, the team made a deal to get the owners points from the #6 RFR team, so it would be guaranteeded spots in the first five races (2-14-2012). Ken Schrader scheduled to run in at least nine races during the season with Federated Auto Parts as the sponsor, with the first one being Las Vegas, although the Daytona 500 could still be a possibility. Stewart-Haas Racing partners with Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) where TBR will field the #10 GoDaddy.com Chevy for all 10 of Patrick’s Cup Series races in 2012. The alliance guarantees a starting spot for Patrick in her Sprint Cup debut – the Daytona 500. TBR’s #36 car, which finished the 2011 season 33rd in owners points, becomes the #10 for 2012. For the 26 races where Patrick is not scheduled to drive, David Reutimann will pilot the #10 car. TBR has sponsorship inventory available for these 26 races. Patrick’s 10-race Sprint Cup schedule is as follows: Daytona in Feb; Darlington in May, Charlotte in May; Bristol in Aug; Atlanta, Chicago and Dover in Sept; Texas and Phoenix in Nov; one race is TDC (1-31-2012). Dave Blaney will run TBR's #36, using 2011 owners points from TBR's #35, full-time in 2012 (1-31-2012).. TBR has re-signed to get engines from Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines in 2012 (1-3-2011). Golden Corral will not return in 2012 as the sponsor, no word if Big Red Soda or Accell Construction will return in 2012 (12-1-2011). Philippe Lopez came aboard as Blaney's crew chief mid-season, moving over from the #87 NEMCO team (9-1-2011). Crew Chief Tony Furr and the team parted ways (12-15-2011). Scott Speed will drive the #95 Ford in 2012 in 15 races, no word on plans for this team or who will drive in 2012 (12-13-2011). | Closed up, minority owners bout the old Red Bull Racing team [#83 & #93] and took much of the crew with them (2-15-2012). Could return in a two car format with TRG owners other then Buckler buying the Red Bull Racing assets and getting the owners points from the #4 and #83 with Landon Cassill and another driver (2-3-2012). Suspended operations in late 2011. May attrempt to run some races later in 2012 or come back in 2013 (1-1-2012). 2011 Sprint Cup rookie of the year Andy Lally left the team before Homestead and moves back to Grand-Am Series with another team. No word who would drive but Reutimann, Ragan or Vickers could be candidates (11-22-2011). Lally won the rookie of the year award after running uncontested for most of the season, and ran most of the races with the team. | Rusty Wallace Inc announced the team has suspended operations of its Nationwide teams and released the drivers to look for other rides, due to lack of sponsorship (1-10-2012). Wallace ran the 2011 Daytona 500 for his father's team, Rusty Wallace Racing, using the #77 Penske Racing owners points.
