Bicycle Brand Playing Cards Team up with #33 team: Bicycle Brand, America's Favorite Playing Cards, announced a two-race partnership with Landon Cassill and Circle Sport as a primary sponsor beginning with this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 race event under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The iconic brand will also serve as the primary of the #33 Bicycle NASCAR Playing Cards Chevrolet SS at next weekend's FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway.
In a tribute to the Memorial Day holiday, the #33 Chevrolet will proudly display the nation's colors incorporated into the Bicycle Playing Cards' paint scheme showcasing the recently launched NASCAR Playing Cards. Almirola Honors Air Force with Patriotic Paint Scheme in Coke 600: Aric Almirola and the #43 Air Force Ford team look to repeat last year's speed in the Coca-Cola 600. Almirola and team won the pole in last year's 600-mile event and finished 16th in his Charlotte Motor Speedway debut. In just his second start at the 1.5-mile track, Almirola started 15th and drove to the 12th position. The United States Air Force will adorn the hood of the #43 Ford this weekend. This will mark the 13th consecutive season the Air Force has been involved in NASCAR, five of which were with Richard Petty Motorsports. Roush to run triple Fastenal Ford's in the Coca Cola 600 UPDATE: Fastenal Racing will be on #16-Greg Biffle, #17-Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and #99-Carl Edwards Ford Racing Fusions for the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway next weekend.(Roush Fenway Racing Facebook)(5-18-2013) UPDATE: Held on Memorial Day weekend, the Coca-Cola 600 presents an opportunity for the NASCAR community to display appreciation for our country's military forces. This year, Fastenal is proud to honor military service men and women, both active and retired, with a three-car tribute on the #16, #17 and #99 Ford Fusions at Charlotte Motor Speedway. These three cars, known as the Fastenal Tribute Cars, will feature the names of current Fastenal employees who served in the military. David MacFadden (First Sergeant, U.S. Army) will be displayed on the hood of the #99, and Brian Ashbee (Chief Quartermaster, U.S. Navy) and Anthony Phillips (Private First Class, U.S. Army) will see their names on the hood of the #17. The displays are part of Fastenal's "Heroes Hired Here" campaign honoring employees who are active or retired military members. MacFadden, Ashbee and Phillips were the top three finishers in a Fastenal employee essay contest. As the contest winner, MacFadden will also receive a trip for two to the Bank of America 500 in Charlotte on October 12th. Johnson goes Patriotic at CMS: Jimmie Johnson will drive the #48 Lowe’s “Patriotic” Chevrolet SS in the Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The car will be painted red, white and blue and ringed in stars. Lowe’s and its #48 team have a long history of supporting the military and honoring the nation over the years. In 2001, Johnson’s first Sprint Cup race came at Charlotte in the Lowe’s Chevrolet, which was specially painted to honor the country. #78 to pay tribute to Armed Forces Day at Sprint All-Star Race: With Armed Forces Day being celebrated on Saturday (May 18), Kurt Busch's #78 Furniture Row/Sealy Chevrolet will observe the annual holiday with a special paint scheme for Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Armed Forces Day, which was created in 1949 and celebrated annually on the third Saturday in May, was an initiative led by President Harry S. Truman to establish a single holiday for citizens to pay tribute to the men and women who served in the United States' armed forces. The paint scheme for Busch's car for the Sprint All-Star Race will include a ribbon on both the hood and rear quarter panels announcing Armed Forces Day. The inscription: "Thank You For Your Service" will also be positioned below the ribbon on the quarter panels. Over the past year, Busch has worked with the Armed Forces Foundation by living up to its motto: "Serving those who Serve" and partnering in various events, such as the military inspired mud run "Busch Whacked" at Texas Motor Speedway. McMurray to run Bass Pros Shops scheme in Showdown: Bass Pro Shops will salute the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) this weekend at the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race [Sprint Showdown] with a special NWTF paint scheme on the #1 Chevy SS of Jamie McMurray. Through vital partnerships with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies, the NWTF and its members have helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America, spending more than $412 million to conserve nearly 17.2 million acres of habitat. The NWTF is a national nonprofit organization that is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. Special scheme for Danica in Showdown: Danica Patrick's #10 GoDaddy Cares Chevy for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) will carry the logo of GoDaddy Cares for this weekend's Sprint All-Star festivities. GoDaddy Cares is GoDaddy's charitable branch whose unique "Round Up for Charity" program in which customers who purchase a domain name or a product at GoDaddy have an option of rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar. Customers then select a charity of their choice from an extensive list offered by GoDaddy. Peak Motor Oil debuts at Talladega: Michael Waltrip Racing and Clint Bowyer welcome PEAK Motor Oil as the primary sponsor of the #15 Toyota Camry for this weekend’s Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. PEAK will serve as the #15’s primary sponsor carrying a BlueDEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid paint scheme at Daytona in July and a PEAK Antifreeze scheme at Chicagoland in September. PEAK also serves as a major associate sponsor in every race. PEAK’s commitment to the sport goes beyond paint schemes. Sadler to run Sprint Cup race in 2013 UPDATE2: Elliot Sadler is scheduled to run at least one un-named NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in 2013, running the #81 Alert Energy Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. This new energy product, was recently introduced by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. The scheme is purple, orange-and-yellow.(lionelnascarcollectables.com.(3-26-2013) UPDATE: Wrigley's new Alert Energy Caffeine Gum will make its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut with Joe Gibbs Racing and driver Elliott Sadler on April 21 at Kansas Speedway. Sadler will pilot the #81 Alert Energy Camry there and at Talladega Superspeedway (May 5 and Oct. 20) for a total of three races during the 2013 race season. The #81 Alert Energy Camry joins an all-star lineup of Mars, Inc. and Wrigley sponsors at Joe Gibbs Racing including Doublemint gum, M&M'S and SNICKERS throughout the 2013 season. "I'm really looking forward to representing Alert Energy in the Sprint Cup Series," said Elliott Sadler, driver of the #81 Camry. "I've been lucky to have a long history with Mars, Inc. and am very excited about working with them again in launching this new product." Alert will be available nationwide starting in April.(JGR)(4-5-2013) UPDATE - Sadler returns to the Sprint Cup Series at Kansas: Sunday’s STP 400 marks the first of three races in which Elliott Sadler will pilot the #81 Alert Energy Toyota Camry, with the two races at Talladega Superspeedway in May and October rounding out the schedule. Alert Energy Caffeine Gum is a new energy product available for adults 25 to 49 that lets people control the amount of caffeine they want “on-the-go.” The product launches nationwide later this month. When Sadler takes to the track for this weekend’s STP 400, it will be the first time he has raced a Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series, making him one of only a handful of drivers to have competed in NASCAR’s top series in a Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and Toyota. Code 3 Associates Joins SHR at Kansas: #39-Ryan Newman will run the Code 3 Associates scheme at Kansas Speedway. Code 3 Associates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in animal rescue and recovery in disaster areas. The sponsorship was made possible by a benefactor with interests in animal-related causes. Formed in 1985, Colorado-based Code 3 Associates is a national response team that, at the request of local government officials, provides animal rescue and recovery in times of disaster. The organization has evolved from one unpaid volunteer to at roughly 75 professional responders around the country, which include animal welfare, law enforcement, fire, EMS and veterinary specialists from the United States and Canada.(SHR), see an image of the car on the #39 Team Schemes page.(4-18-2013)
Bass Pro Sports returns to the #1 car: Bass Pro Shops will make their first appearance of the season on the #1 Chevy of Jamie McMurray. The Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats paint scheme on the #1 at Auto Club Speedway will be the first of two races in 2013 (EGR), the other race being the All-Star race in Charlotte, see my #1 Team Schemes page for images of the car.(3-20-2013)
Furniture Row Racing announces associate sponsors: Three nationally-known mattress brands – Sealy, Serta and Simmons Beautyrest will partner with Furniture Row Racing and Denver Mattress as associate sponsors during the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Each of the three mattress brands will sponsor selected races, a total of 20 during the 36-event Sprint Cup schedule. The brands will carry top billing on the rear quarter panels of the #78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Chevrolet SS driven by Kurt Busch. The spacious Denver Mattress showrooms, which are part of the multiple-store Furniture Row Shopping Centers nationwide, carry the best of all the better brands of mattresses, including Sealy, Serta, Simmons Beautyrest and its own factory-direct line of Denver Mattresses.
"We are thrilled about having Sealy, Serta and Simmons Beautyrest coming on board to complement our Furniture Row/Denver Mattress NASCAR sponsorship," said Dan Visser, president of Denver Mattress. "Our Denver Mattress stores allow consumers the unique one-stop shopping opportunity to compare all the better brands of mattresses. We feel strongly that the powerful and highly-visible NASCAR stage will help us convey our customer-friendly message to the mattress shopper."
Part of the scheduled races for each of the mattress companies will be in the area of its corporate headquarters – Sealy (Trinity, N.C.) May 18 & 26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway; Simmons Beautyrest (Atlanta) Sept. 1 at Atlanta Motor Speedway; and Serta (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) Sept. 15 at Chicagoland Speedway.
"Having top-of-the-line national brands such as Sealy, Serta and Simmons Beautyrest on your race car is one more reason to get pumped up for the start of the 2013 season," said Busch, a 24-time Sprint Cup race winner. SANY America sponsoring Blaney for 14 races: Tommy Baldwin has been gradually building his race team since 2009. He's endured a fledgling economy and has managed to maintain a presence in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Now, he's seeing his patience and hard work pay off. Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that the building continues, as they introduce SANY America to NASCAR as a major sponsorship partner for 2013. With Dave Blaney at the wheel, SANY America will serve as the primary sponsor on the #7 ChevyS for 14 Sprint Cup Series events and associate partner for 22 races, starting with the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on March 3rd. The relationship was forged with the help of Al Heinke, owner of Mohawk Construction and co-owner of TBR. Started in 1989 by college roommates, SANY is now the sixth largest industrial equipment company in the world. United Mining Equipment sponsoring Yeley for three races: Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that United Mining Equipment (UME) will be a primary sponsor on JJ Yeley's #36 Chevy for three races in 2013. The Butler, PA-based company will be on board for both races at Bristol Motor Speedway, and the annual summer race at Kentucky Speedway. Team owner Tommy Baldwin, Jr. is happy to bring new sponsors to NASCAR's top level. "United Mining Equipment tested TBR and NASCAR out at Homestead-Miami Speedway last year and really liked what they saw. By expanding their program this year emphasizes that our program and NASCAR can work for any business category." Golden Corral Renews partnership with Tommy Baldwin; Yeley to drive #36: Tommy Baldwin Racing announced that Golden Corral will return to the organization in 2013 as a primary sponsor on the #36 Chevy to be driven by J.J. Yeley at the four superspeedway races. This will mark the third year that the Raleigh, N.C. based company has been a partner with TBR. Driving the #36 Chevy will add to an already impressive resume for Yeley. Also returning is the popular "Top 10 Kids Eat Free" promotion. New look for Dale Jr's car at Homestead: For this weekend's race, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will use the canvas of his #88 Chevy to debut the 2013 National Guard paint scheme. Earnhardt helped design the blue-and-white look that will adorn the soon-to-be unveiled 2013 Chevrolet SS. When Die-Cast Makes a Difference: Last year, many collectors and partners joined Lionel NASCAR Collectables in helping support The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and their commitment to wounded military heroes. Because of collectors and partners, Lionel NASCAR Collectables was able to raise $200,000 for the construction of a new "smart" home for United States Marine Corporal Todd Nicely. Todd lost both his arms and his legs when he stepped on a mine in Afghanistan. More info and a video at the LNC Pit Box.
