Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles featured on #95 of McDowell at AMS: The Atlanta Motor Speedway will welcome Nickelodeon's iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) for its NASCAR Labor Day weekend, Aug. 29-31, 2014. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo will bring their fast-action, high-adventure style of fun to the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series for a weekend of family entertainment, including two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed cars, which will be driven by Nationwide Series driver Chris Buescher and Sprint Series driver #95-Michael McDowell.
McDowell will drive the #95 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Ford Fusion for Leavine Family Racing (LFR) in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. With its race shop based in Concord, N.C., Leavine Family Racing (LFR) fields a single-car effort in the competitive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Owned by Bob and Sharon Leavine, LFR has competed in NASCAR's top series since 2011. Also at the speedway, fans of all ages will be able to enjoy end-of-the-summer activities chock-full of 'Turtle power'. Fans to choose 3M Throwback Logo for #16 in Pocono UPDATE: For the second year in a row, 3M Racing is allowing the fans to decide which 3M throwback logo will be featured on the #16 in Pocono on August 3rd. Adding a new element to the competition, one lucky fan will now get the chance to have their name appear on Greg Biffle's 3M Ford Fusion for the race at the "Tricky Triangle" just by placing a vote. This year, there will be eight different logos setup in a bracket-style competition, narrowing down the field to just two options before the final logo is determined. Voting kicked off June 19th and goes through Thursday, July 17th with the winning design set to be unveiled before the Pocono race weekend. Vickers' #55 Aaron's Toyota will carry a special paint scheme honoring FSU's 2013 BCS National Championship football team when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Daytona International Speedway on July 5. The garnet and gold paint scheme on the Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota will include the FSU BCS National Championship logo on the hood. Vickers will also wear a special FSU driver uniform for the race.

Nationwide's primary sponsorship of Stenhouse in the #17 Nationwide Insurance Ford Fusion includes seven races, while maintaining its associate sponsor status for the balance of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. "Our partnership with Ricky was an easy decision and race fans can expect to see more of him when we introduce our new season kick-off campaigns in a few weeks," said Matt Jauchius, chief marketing officer for Nationwide Insurance. In addition, the organizations' '9/11 Never Forget' mobile exhibit will make its return to its North Carolina roots at RFR's Fan Appreciation Day on May 22. Dogecoin and Reddit Partner with Phil Parsons Racing for Talladega: In a partnership effort between Dogecoin and Reddit, the #98 Ford Fusion of Phil Parsons Racing will have a new look at Talladega. Earlier this year, Reddit user and tech fan Denis Pavel noticed a plain black car with a driver he felt 'raced the wheels off the car' during a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The lack of sponsorship caused Pavel to think of some of the significant fundraisers that he's witnessed on the Reddit platform.
"I didn't really know much about Dogecoin or Reddit when Denis Pavel initially reached out to us about the race at Talladega Superspeedway," commented Parsons. "He watched a race on television and was excited about what he saw from Josh Wise and our team. We were able to connect on Twitter and everything took off from there-it's amazing how social media allows sports fans to actually connect to us, and that it would allow something like this to come together. As far as I know, this is the first online effort like this that's been able to fund sponsorship for a NASCAR team, so it's pretty cool to be a part of it."
"I knew that Dogecoin had done some significant fundraisers, like sending the Jamaican bobsled team to the Olympics," Pavel said. "I was thinking what kind of response I would get if I did ask the (Reddit) community about sponsoring a Sprint Cup car. They were all with it."
Familiar with the digital currency Dogecoin, the 16-year-old Pavel from Niles, Ill., decided to utilize the currency to raise sponsorship funds for driver Josh Wise and the #98 Ford Fusion team. Exceeding their initial goal by 10% within the opening week, Dogecoin and Reddit were able to partner with Phil Parsons Racing for the Sprint Cup Series event at Talladega Superspeedway.
"We are all about fun and goofiness," commented Ben Doernberg, board member at the Dogecoin Foundation. "At the same time, we want to make sure that digital currency is really giving back to the world. We do feel like this is a technology that can make the world a better place, and we want to put that into practice by doing fundraisers."
To date, this marks the first fundraising effort through Dogecoin and Reddit to sponsor a NASCAR race team. In addition to raising funds online, the team also took to the internet allowing Reddit users to vote on a paint scheme for Sunday's event. "The more we've walked through this fundraising effort, it has really been special to us," commented Wise. "People are noticing our effort. We're a tiny little team with seven or eight employees. Vickers bringing awareness to blot clots with special scheme: Brian Vickers has overcome blood clots twice in his life. He's taking steps to make sure others are just as fortunate. Vickers missed most of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup season recovering from blood clots in his legs and around his lungs. 3M Aerospace Honors Military on Biffle's car: 3M's Aerospace Division will make its racing debut this Sunday at Auto Club Speedway onboard Greg Biffle's #16 Ford Fusion. Aerospace products from 3M are used in a wide range of applications, from commercial airlines to business jets to military aircraft. Skittles Returns to NASCAR with JGR and the #18 team: The Skittles brand made by Wrigley, a subsidiary of Mars, Inc. will make its comeback to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the 2014 season as part of Mars, Inc.'s longtime partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing. The Skittles #18 Camry will take the track for two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this season, piloted by NASCAR star Kyle Busch on March 2 at Phoenix and March 16 at Bristol. For the first time in more than 10 years, the Skittles brand will join the lineup of Mars, Inc.'s world-class sponsors at Joe Gibbs Racing including, M&M'S, Doublemint and Snickers in the 2014 season.
