- Las Vegas Qualifying Results/Race Lineup at:
ThatsRacin.com
MotorsportsOne
NASCAR.com
(2-28-2003)
- Rain at Vegas - Busch qualifying cancelled: rain has put a delay on Busch Series and Winston Cup practice [Busch was due to practice at 9:00am/et and Cup at 11:20am/et], the rain has stopped and as of 3:45pm/et, it was reported that the Busch Series was practicing, but been told a car has not been on the track yet today. The weather forcast for this afternoon looked good, BUT it is raining again as of 4:30pm/et - 1:30pm/pt, Saturday's forcast is for showers/rain [50%], mainly during the afternoon. Busch qualifying has BEEN Canceled and the filed will be set by 2002 Owners points, supposedly the plan is, once it stops raining, to dry the track, get Winston Cup practice and qualifying in this afternoon.(2-28-2003)
- Revised Schedule: is unknown.(XM Satellite- NASCAR Radio - Subscription Required)(2-28-2003)
- What happens if qualifying for the Cup race is cancelled? here is the rules [last I heard unless NASCAR changed them]:
The field would be set as follows:
#1) - previous season Owner Points [positions 1-35]
#2) - Race winners from the previous and current season not already in the field
#3) - Past Winston Cup Champions not in by 1 and 2
#4) - Current season Owner Points not in by 1-3
#5) - Previous Season Qualifying Attempts with Owners points as the tie breaker.(as posted on my Provisonals page)
- Qualifying Order is up see my UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Race Info page for the links. 45 drivers/teams are listed [for 43 spots], first driver scheduled out is #40-Sterling Marlin [who won the race last year] and the final driver scheduled to go out is #29-Kevin Harvick.(2-28-2003)
- Cup Qualifying at Las Vegas: Qualifying for the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is scheduled to start at 6:05pm/et on Friday, February 28th, will be televised on Fox Sports Net [check local listings] live and will be re-aired on Speed Channel at 8:30pm/et and on Sat Mat 1st at 12:00am/et. Qualifying can be heard on radio via PRN Radio and XM Satellite - NASCAR Radio - Channel 144, and via the Internet at NASCAR.com's paid service, Trackpass, and I try to run a separate page with all the speeds updated every five drivers or so, with practice speeds to compare, as I watch/listen to qualifying.[depends on if I can work from the track](2-28-2003)
- Press Releases: many Winston Cup team/driver pre-race press release links (and Marketing and Sponsorship links) at the Press Release Page, links posted on 2-26-2003: John Andretti, Johnny Benson, Dave Blaney, Todd Bodine, Jeff Burton, Kurt Busch, Dale Earnheadt Jr, Bill Elliott, Bobby Labonte, Sterling Marlin, Jeremy Mayfield, Ryan Newman, Steve Park, Kyle Petty, Kyle Petty, Elliott Sadler, Ken Schrader, Jack Sprague, Tony Stewart, Rusty Wallace and others
- Entry list is up for the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, see the list at Las Vegas Entry List, 46 drivers/teams listed including, #02-Brandon Ash, #07-Ted Musgrave, #37-Derrike Cope and #66-Hideo Fukuyama.
UPDATE: benn told that #07-Ted Musgrave will NOT be attempting the race as the team has not had time to get a car ready since the team's trucks and #7 car got wrecked in Daytona, it was decided to skip Las Vegas so the team can get the trucks ready for Darlington and work on the #7. Plans are to race the #07 in some future undecided races.. So that makes it 45 entries for the race at Las Vegas.(2-25-2003)
- The Next Race Info Page: UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 Race Info page in La Vegas, NV at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 3:00pm/et on Sunday, March 2nd - TV: Fox (pre-race show at 2:30pm/et)
