  • Friday practice for the Subway 400 at Rockingham is over. At the completion of practice, the the top five were:

    #2-Wallace, 153.272
    #59-Andy Belmont crashed between turns 3 and 4, flattening the drivers side of the car [only made 2 laps]. Belmont was not injured, no word if he has a backup car.
    Slowest is #72-Kirk Shelmerdine was was slowest at 141.386mph. .Belmont is listed at 126.953. #89-Shepherd has no speed/time listed.

  • Parts Confiscated: NASCAR inspectors confiscated several items during Thursday's pre-qualifying inspections at Rockingham. Among the items taken were unapproved foam for fuel cell bladders from the #89 Ford of Morgan Shepherd and the #9 Dodge of Kasey Kahne. In addition a lap belt was taken from the #88 Ford of Dale Jarrett because its expiration date had passed.(ThatsRacin.com)(2-20-2004)
