Race comments: Before an estimated crowd of 160,000, Kevin Harvick won the Food City 500, posting his fifth NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victory. On Lap 333 the race was red-flagged (13 minutes, 48 seconds) for track clean-up. Prior to the green flag, the following drivers, under penalty, dropped to the rear of the field for the reasons indicated: #29-Kevin Harvick (unapproved impound work); #99-Carl Edwards (backup car).
