Race Comments: Before an estimated crowd of 90,000, Greg Biffle won the Auto Club 500, posting his fourth NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victory. Prior to the green flag, the following drivers, under penalty, dropped to the rear of the field for the reasons indicated: #20 Tony Stewart (transmission); #07 Dave Blaney (backup car); #14 John Andretti, #34 Randy LaJoie, #37 Kevin Lepage, #38 Elliott Sadler & #43 Jeff Green (impound violation).
