Race comments: Before an estimated crowd of 120,000, Carl Edwards won the golden corral 500, posting his career-first NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victory. On Lap 3 the race was red-flagged (9 minutes, 19 seconds) for track clean-up. Prior to the green flag, the following drivers, under penalty, dropped to the rear of the field for the reasons indicated: #4 Mike Wallace (engine change); #5 Kyle Busch (backup car). Edwards also won his career-first NASCAR Busch Series race this weekend, winning the Aaron’s 312 on Saturday, March 19.
