Race comments: Before an estimated crowd of 125,000, Mark Martin won the Banquet 400 presented by ConAgra Foods, posting his 35th NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series victory. It was his first victory since Dover in June 2004. Prior to the green flag, the following drivers, under penalty, dropped to the rear of the field for the reasons indicated: #11 Denny Hamlin (backup car); #12 Ryan Newman (transmission change); #9 Kasey Kahne (backup car).
