ท          ROUGH DAY FOR DEI MEANS TWO SPOTS ARE IN PLAY:  Martin Truex’s DNF at Chicagoland dropped him one spot and 79 points closer to being out of The Chase. Truex now has only an 87-point margin on 13^th place Ryan Newman and Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 19^th dropped him 19 points closer to Newman, who posted an eighth.

 

ท          BIG MOVES:  Kurt Busch’s sixth at Chicago brought him 44 points and one spot closer to The Chase. He now sits only 77 points out.  Casey Mears stayed in contention with a clutch fifth at Chicago, drawing to within 230 points out. It would be the greatest rally in Race to the Chase history, but you can count Mears out yet.
