ท          UP ELEVATOR:   Matt Kenseth continues his strong drive to the T12, gaining 8 spots while scoring 793 points over the last five races …   Stablemate Carl Edwards has moved up six spots over the last five, putting himself in solid shape for The Chase  …  Kasey Kahne has been spectacular in moving up five spots  …  Even though falling short of expectations, Jeff Gordon has avoided bad finishes and moved up four spots over the last five.

ท          DOWN ELEVATOR:  Clint Bowyer looked very solid for The Chase a month ago. Now, at eight spots down the standings and on the 12^th place “bubble spot,”  he’s in a dogfight to stay in the T12  …  Ryan Newman has dropped six spots down to 17^th and is not far from elimination unless the #12 can get hot  …  More RCR woes as Kevin Harvick has slipped five spots over the past five and now sits just 73 points ahead of 13^th place.

ท          HANGING IN THERE:  David Ragan continues to plod along and refuses to go away, although Infineon will be a big challenge and one would think this team would take a top 15 or 20 and head to New Hampshire.
