ท          PAIN AHEAD FOR KAHNE?  --  Kasey Kahne’s 25^th at Texas took him back five spots to the 12^th-place bubble spot, still 54 ahead of Matt Kenseth. His last five races have netted only 580 points and that won’t keep you in T12.

ท          ELEVATOR UP:  Carl Edwards’ impressive win at Texas catapulted him four spots into the Chase and Jimmie Johnson’s strong second at TMS jumped him five spots.

ท          ELEVATOR DOWN:  Jeff Gordon’s dismal day dropped him five spots down, now out of the Top 12 at 14^th. Greg Biffle’s 39^th cost him 6 spots back to 9^th and he lost 79 points to 13^th place. A blown engine sent Martin Truex three spots down to 16^th and cost him 74 points on 12^th place.
