NOTES:

·          NOT A WIN BUT JPM CAPITALIZES --  Juan Pablo Montoya didn’t win at Infineon, but his sixth place finish catapulted him into the T12 for the first time at this point of the season in his three-year career.  There are thousands of miles left to go to The Chase, but give a call to JPM.

·          KAHNE’S WIN HAS HIM KNOCKING ON THE CHASE DOOR:  Kasey Kahne’s very impressive win at Infineon gained him 88 points on 12th place and stamps him as a legitimate contender for the ’09 Chase, just three points out.

·          HARD TIMES AT RCR:  Jeff Burton, the last remaining RCR driver in the T12 heading into Infineon, dropped three spots with his hard-luck 34th.  In fact, Burton (-9), Clint Bowyer (-3) and Kevin Harvick (-4) have dropped a combined 16 spots in the standings over the last five races.  Burton (-46) and Bowyer (-65) remain strong contenders for the Chase if they can regain momentum in the next few races.  Harvick, miles away from the T12 at -380, is having the worst season of his career since his rookie season in 2002.

·          T12 BY OWNERS:  Stewart-Haas 2 of 2 (100%), Hendrick 3 of 4 (75%), Gibbs 2 of 3 (66%), Roush 3 of 5 (60%), Earnhardt/Ganassi 1 of 2 (50%).

·          T12 BY MANUFACTURERS:  Chevrolet 6, Ford 3, Toyota 2, Dodge 1
