Kasey Kahne won the Coors Light Pole Award for the CARFAX 400 with a lap of 38.465 seconds, 187.183 mph.
This is his 18th pole in 239 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. Two of his 18 poles have come with Richard Petty Motorsports. Interestingly, this pole ties him for 37th on the all-time poles list with Lee Petty (as well as Donnie Allison and Joe Weatherly).
This is his second pole and 12th top-10 start in 2010. His last pole came at Infineon Raceway.
This is his second pole in 14 races at Michigan International Speedway. His first pole at Michigan came in June of 2006.
