Stewart wins at Atlanta: #14-Tony Stewart won the Emory Healthcare 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway for his 1st win of 2010, 3rd at Atlanta and 38th of his career. Stewart has one at least one race in every year of his Sprint Cup career, now 12 straight years with at least a win every season. Stewart is the 11th winner of 2010. #99-Edwards finished second followed by #48-Johnson, #31-Burton, #18-Busch, #2-Busch, #33-Bowyer, #39-Newman, #42-Montoya and #47-Ambrose. Pole sitter, #11-Hamlin dominated the first part of the race, leading 74 laps before imploding an engine and finishing 43rd. Bowyer's 7th place finish and #1-McMurray finishing 15th and dropped to 14th. #39-Newman moved to 13th in drivers points, but is 117 points out of 12th with one race to go. Bowyer needs to finish 28th or better at Richmond to clinch a spot in the chase. The top-10 in drivers points have clinched a spot in the Chase.
There were 22 lead changes among 7 drivers and 8 cautions for 53 yellow flag laps. The attendance was reported at 93,200, down from last years 111,300.
