  • #34-Michael McDowell won his first pole position at Atlanta in 467 races, the longest a driver has ever gone before their first pole position start. McDowell’s pole win at Atlanta is the first pole for Front Row Motorsports in nearly a decade, when David Gilliland, won the pole for the Firecracker 400 at Daytona in July 2014.(2-24-2024)
  • Dan Gurney won the pole for Riverisde in November 1963, but Marvin Panch started and raced the #121 Ford to a 3rd place finish. In 1963, drivers didn’t have to fall to thew rear of the race after a driver change before the start. Gurney ended up not running the race.
