Race Rundown

Briscoe secures Championship 4 spot with Xfinity win at Kansas: Chase Briscoe led a dominating 159 of 200 laps to win his record ninth NASCAR Xfinity Series race Saturday night, the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway. And while the 25-year old Hoosier turned in a dominating effort, the race – a crucial chapter in the 2020 Playoff run – was dramatic in multiple ways. Briscoe’s No. 98 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford ultimately edged Daniel Hemric’s No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet by 1.199-seconds to earn the win – his nine-trophy single season tally the most ever by an Xfinity Series regular. Just as importantly, the victory gives Briscoe an automatic position in the Championship 4 round to decide the season title on Nov. 7 at Phoenix Raceway.

#98-Chase Briscoe won the Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Kansas Speedway. The win is his 9th win of the year, 1st at Kansas, and 11 career win.
The win also secures his spot in the Championship race at Phoenix.

Briscoe led 159 of the 200 laps.  He took the lead for the final time with 21 laps remaining and won the race by more than 1 second despite a late race caution.
There was a large wreck with 28 laps remaining that ended with #21-Alfredo’s car upside down.  The race had to be red flagged to get the car upright and get him out. He was not injured.  The accident started when #7-Allgaier drove too deep into the corner while on the apron. He continued on. #19-Jones suffered some rear end damage to his car but was able to stay on track.
Playoff drivers having issues:
#22-Cindric and #9-Gragson wrecked after contact on lap 16. Gragson, the pole sitter, could not continue and finished 36th. After meeting minimum speed, Cindric spent some time behind the wall on repairs.  He finished 28th.
#10-Chastain suffered rear end damage from contact with the wall after #21-Alfredo got into his rear quarterpanel with just over 30 laps remaining. He fell to 12th at the finish.
Stage 1 and 2 were both won by #98-Briscoe.
There were 10 lead changes among 6 drivers and 10 cautions for 45 yellow flag laps.
