Joey Logano outduels Kyle Busch in overtime in debut race at Gateway: In front of packed grandstands at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Joey Logano beat Kyle Busch in an intense overtime battle, and Ross Chastain ate a gigantic piece of humble pie. After a brake rotor failure sent Kevin Harvick’s Ford rocketing into the Turn 3 wall on Lap 236 of a scheduled 240 in Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300, Busch, as the leader, picked the outside lane. #22-Joey Logano won the inaugural Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway. The win is his 2nd win of the year and 24th career win.
#18-Busch finished 2nd followed by #45-Busch, #12-Blaney, #10-Almirola, #19-Truex, Jr., #43-Jones, #1-Chastain, #20-Bell, and #16-Allmendinger.
The race ended after one overtime attempt.  #4-Harvick brought out a late-race caution.  #18-Busch, who had taken the lead with 12 laps remaining, had the lead on the restart, but was passed by Logano coming to the white flag.  Logano held on to win by more than a half second.
Pole winner #14-Briscoe had to pit from the lead early in the race. He finished 24th.
Stage 1 was won by #2-Cindric. Stage 2 was won by  #45-Busch.
There were 12 lead changes among 9 drivers and 10 cautions for 53 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 97.965mph.
