Joey Gase in the #55 at Las Vegas

Mooresville, NC (February 27, 2017) – Joey Gase joins Premium Motorsports at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to pilot the team’s #55 entry in Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, ‘Pennzoil 400’. Joining Gase to support racing efforts at the speedway and to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation is Nevada Donor Network (NDN).

“I’m really excited to make my first Cup Series start with Premium Motorsports this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I’m also very excited to be teaming up with Nevada Donor Network to promote organ, eye and tissue donation. I have been teaming up with NDN since 2013 in the Xfinity Series. I couldn’t ask for a better partner” – Joey Gase

Making the decision to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor is important. Every time someone says YES to donation, it gives hope to the tens of thousands of patients waiting for a life-saving organ transplant and the thousands more in need of a tissue or cornea transplant. NDN has experienced record-breaking success in saving and enhancing lives and continue to grow their presence in the community and they stated that working with Joey Gase on the NASCAR platform has greatly helped them reach a massive amount of potential new donors.

Nevada Donor Network is a federally designated 501-C-3 not-for-profit organ procurement organization. For the past 5 years, they have been responsible for facilitating tissue and cornea donation statewide. The NDN team coordinated lifesaving donations from 123 organ donor heroes in 2017, which resulted in 359 transplanted organs. This equates to 56 organ donors per million of population recovered last year. On behalf of these heroic donors, NDN facilitated 163 transplants per million of population in 2017, making the organization a world leader in the number of lives saved per capita served (based on data from Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network and U.S. Census). In 2017, NDN recovered healing tissues from 520 tissue donor heroes which will help restore quality of life and mobility to thousands of grateful recipients. On behalf of 1,142 heroic cornea donors, NDN facilitated the gift of restored sight to 1,879 people.
