Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern tweeted that overnight TV ratings for the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway were a 2.9 rating, up 4% from a 2.8 for last year’s race. That should make the race the highest-rated U.S. sports event of the weekend for the third straight week to start 2019.(3-4-2019).

UPDATE 2: Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race from Las Vegas delivered a 3.0 rating and 5.12 million viewers on FOX, up 3% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year (2.9, 4.73M), but down 17% and 14% respectively from 2017 (3.6, 5.97M). Joey Logano’s win snapped a streak of three straight declines for the Las Vegas race, which last posted an increase in 2015.
