UPDATE: NASCAR hit a three-year ratings high at Las Vegas, snapping a four-year streak of declines for its second race of the season.
Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series at Las Vegas averaged a 3.2 rating and 5.50 million viewers on FOX, marking the highest rated and most-watched edition of the race in three years (2017: 3.6, 5.97M).
It ranked as the highest rated and most-watched sporting event of the weekend, topping the second-place Celtics-Lakers NBA game on ABC head-to-head (2.3, 3.59M). The NBA game came out ahead in adults 18-49 (1.1 to 1.0) and adults 18-34 (0.8 to 0.6).
ORIGINAL POST 2-25-2020: Fox earned 5.5 million viewers for Sunday’s Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
That is up 8% over last year’s race at Atlanta, which was the second race of the season.
