Chase Briscoe penalized following inspection at NASCAR R&D Center UPDATE

UPDATE: According to Elton Sawyer of NASCAR said the penalty was the result of a counterfeit NACA duct to the engine panel.  That is a single source part.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Greg Zipadelli says, “We had a quality control lapse and a part that never should’ve been on a car going to the racetrack ended up on the No. 14 car at Charlotte. We accept NASCAR’s decision and will not appeal.”

ORIGINAL POST: NASCAR announced Wednesday that #14-Chase Briscoe’s team has been penalized for a counterfeit underwing part.
