Fans can email Denny Hamlin during Sonoma race

Today, Yahoo is launching “Email Denny,” a new fan-engagement campaign in partnership with NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin that turns fan commentary into the center of the campaign itself. It’s a direct response to modern sports fandom and internet culture: fans are already part of the conversation and the second-screen buzz of every race weekend, so Yahoo is making that participation explicit, visible, and impossible to ignore.

Here’s how it works:

  • For this weekend’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, Denny will share his Yahoo Mail email address – fans can spot it on his Yahoo-branded car, his racing suit, and more.
  • There will even be bumper stickers that read “Problem with my driving? [email protected].”
  • Fans can email him in real time with their hot takes throughout the race; those who participate will be entered to win prizes including his signed race suit, and may even receive a message from Denny himself! Fans will also be able to spot Denny on Yahoo’s Instagram and TikTok channels following the race responding to a few of his favorite messages.

Here’s a quote from Denny Hamlin: “NASCAR fans are some of the most passionate in sports. They have a lot of opinions about the way we drive, which is great! It makes things fun. And Yahoo just made it easier for fans to share those opinions.  So go ahead. Email me. I look forward to hearing what you got.”
