USA Sports continues its coverage of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series this weekend at Richmond Raceway with the Cook Out 400 airing live on USA Network on Saturday, Aug. 15, starting at 7 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage on Countdown to Green begins at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Long-time motorsports play-by-play commentator Leigh Diffey leads USA Sports’ NASCAR broadcasts alongside 21-time Cup Series-winner Jeff Burton, who was recently elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, as well as Steve Letarte, former crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon.
Marty Snider will host USA Sports’ Countdown to Green pre-race coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET alongside Burton and Letarte, and the post-race show will feature Diffey, Burton, and Letarte. Snider, Kim Coon and Dave Burns will report from pit road.
Following Saturday’s post-race coverage, USA Sports will premiere the second episode of NASCAR AMERICANA, “Family Bonds” on USA Network. The three-part limited documentary series explores NASCAR’s unique place in the American story and is produced by the critically acclaimed makers of The Last Dance and OJ: Made in America and executive produced by Peyton Manning and Omaha Productions.
From hometown dirt tracks to NASCAR’s biggest stages, “Family Bonds” explores the love of racing that has united families across generations and made it one of America’s most enduring communities. This episode features the first formal sit-down interview with Hall of Fame driver Kurt Busch since the sudden loss in May of his younger brother Kyle Busch, the all-time winningest driver across NASCAR’s three national series. It focuses on the relationships that define NASCAR as drivers, teams, and fans come together to honor Busch at the 2026 Coca-Cola 600.
Following last weekend’s Iowa Corn 350 on USA Network, this is the second race of USA Sports’ NASCAR coverage in 2026, which includes 14 races of the 2026 Cup Series season and includes full coverage of “The Chase,” with USA Sports producing 10 races on USA Network and four on NBC, including the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race in Miami in November.
