Kansas Speedway hosts the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend, where both series will run familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle setups.
Cup Series teams will use the same left- and right-side tires they ran at Kansas in the spring. This tire setup has been used several times since that race, most recently at Darlington Raceway earlier this month. The left-side Goodyear Racing Eagle has also been used three other times this season, most recently at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“We introduced new right-side Goodyear Racing Eagles at this race last fall, which helped give teams different strategy options,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “This weekend will be the third time Cup Series teams have run this setup at Kansas, and the eighth time they have done so this season, so they come to Kansas with valuable data to help with their setups.”
Craftsman Truck Series teams will also run a familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle setup this weekend. The combination has been used at Texas Motor Speedway and Michigan International Speedway, while the left-side tire has been used twice more this season. Craftsman Truck Series teams will also use inner liners at Kansas, as is customary on tracks one mile and longer.
Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend in the NHRA Nationals at The Rock at Rockingham Dragway, in Japan with the FIA World Endurance Championship contesting the 6 Hours of Fuji, and in the British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone.
