#11-Denny Hamlin won the Hollywood Casino 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway. The win is his 5th win of 2019, 2nd win at Kansas and 36th career win.
#9-Elliott finished 2nd followed by #18-Busch, #1-Busch, #24-Byron, #19-Truex, Jr., #20-Jones, #14-Bowyer, #4-Harvick, and #48-Johnson.
Hamlin seemed to have the race in hand until a caution came out with 15 laps remaining because of #12-Blaney. After pit stops, Hamlin restarted as the leader with 9 laps to go.
With 3 laps remaining, Elliott had moved to 2nd, but the caution came out for an accident between #36-Tifft and #43-Wallace.
Under the first attempt at Overtime, an accident involving #41-Suarez and pole sitter #8-Hemric brought the caution out just before the white flag.
The second attempt at Overtime was clean. Elliott moved to second while Hamlin held on for the win.

Daniel Hemric streaks to first career NASCAR Cup pole at Kansas: Daniel Hemric may be out of the Playoffs and out of his ride at Richard Childress racing next year, but that didn’t stop the driver of the No. 8 RCR Chevrolet from winning the pole position for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. In Saturday’s time trials for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Round of 12 elimination race, Hemric covered the 1.5-mile distance in 30.329 seconds (178.047 mph) to earn the top starting spot, not to mention his first career Busch Pole Award, by .035 seconds over second-place David Ragan (177.842 mph).[More](10-19-2019)
