RACE RUNDOWN….News & Links

#4-Kevin Harvick  won the Big Machine Vodka 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The win is his 3rd win of 2019, 2nd win at Indianapolis and 48th career win. It is the 8th time in his career that he won from the pole.
#22-Logano finished 2nd followed by #43-Wallace, #24-Byron, #14-Bowyer, #11-Hamlin, #12-Blaney, #6-Newman, #9-Elliott, and #21-Menard.
The final two Playoff positions that had not been locked up were taken by #14-Bowyer and #6-Newman.
The two drivers on the Playoff bubble that did not advance were #41-Suarez and #48-Johnson.
#41-Suarez hit the outside wall on lap 10 and had to pit multiple times. Later in the race he got caught a lap down after pitting, but got he free pass. He moved up to finish 11th, but ended up 4 points behind Newman for the final spot.
#48-Johnson was involved in an accident on lap 104 and finished 35th. He missed the Playoffs for the first time in his career.
Stage 1 was won by Logano. Stage 2 was won by #4-Harvick.
There were 13 lead changes among 8 drivers and 9 cautions for 48 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 119.443mph.
