Tyler Reddick wins first race with 23XI Racing at Circuit of The Americas: Tyler Reddick prevailed in three overtime re-starts to claim his first trophy of the year – and first with his new team, 23XI Racing, with a 1.411-second victory over two-time series champion Kyle Busch in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix – the NASCAR Cup Series’ first road course race of the season. It was a field of international champions and NASCAR’s very best at the famed Circuit of The Americas course but for most of the race the outcome looked to be decided in a good ole Texas duel between the two fastest cars all weekend driven by Reddick and Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron. #45-Tyler Reddick won the Echopark Texas Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas. The win is his 1st win of the year, 1st at COTA and 4th career win.
#8-Busch finished 2nd followed by #48-Bowman, #1-Chastain, pole winner #24-Byron, #2-Cindric. #47-Stenhouse, Jr., #17-Buescher, #54-Gibbs, and #38-Gilliland.
Reddick and Byron took turns dominating much of the race.  Reddick took the lead from Byron with 4 laps remaining and held the lead through 3 Overtime attempts to pull away for the win by 1.4 second.
Notable finishes:
#15-Button finished 18th.
#9-Taylor, filling in for Chase Elliott,  finished 24th.
#91-Raikkonen finished 29th after a late spin.
#50-Daly suffered a broken transaxle and finished 36th.
#84-Johnson was involved in an accident on lap 1 and finished 38th.
Stage 1 was won by #24-Byron. Stage 2 was won by #45-Reddick.
There were 16 lead changes among 7 drivers and 8 cautions for 17 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 72.886mph.
