Riggs isn’t competing for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship, but that didn’t prevent him from winning the Playoff opener Aug. 25 at the Milwaukee Mile. #38-Layne Riggs won the UNOH 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The win was his second of the season, first at Bristol, and the second Truck Series win of his career.
Riggs took command following a restart on lap 120 and held on for the win through the final 80 laps.
#11-Corey Heim finished second. #71-Rajah Caruth, #19-Christian Eckes, #2-Nick Sanchez, #88-Matt Crafton, #77-Chase Purdy, #98-Ty Majeski, #52-Stewart Friesen and #18-Tyler Ankrum were the top-10.
With their runs, #11-Heim, #19-Eckes, and #2-Sanchez locked up spots in the next round of the playoffs, the Round of 8.
#7-Connor Zilisch started from the pole, led 41 laps, but was involved in a spin on lap 110 after contact from #2-Sanchez. He finished 19th.
#71-Caruth won stage one and #11-Heim won stage two.
There were eight lead changes among five drivers and four cautions for 39 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 79.552mph.
