John Hunter Nemechek wins crash-filled Xfinity Series race at Texas: John Hunter Nemechek made the winning pass with seven laps remaining in Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway to punch his ticket to the next round of the series Playoffs and increase his series-best and career-best single season total to seven victories.(Read more)(9-23-2023)

For the seventh time in the 2023 season, #20-John Hunter Nemechek wound up in Victory Lane, as he won Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. It’s his second win at Texas, also capturing the checkered flag in 2021. With the victory, Nemechek is locked into the Round of 8.
#48-Parker Kligerman tied his best career finish in second. With a handful of laps remaining, Kligerman made a move on #7-Justin Allgaier for the race lead but got loose, allowing Nemechek to pass both drivers. #18-Sammy Smith placed third with #16-Chandler Smith and Allgaier rounding out the top five. Allgaier won both stages and led a race-high 133 laps after starting from the pole position.
#00-Cole Custer placed sixth, as #21-Austin Hill finished seventh with a battered car. #2-Sheldon Creed, #9-Brandon Jones and #25-Brett Moffitt complete the top 10.
Playoff drivers finishing outside the top 10 were: #10-Daniel Hemric (24th), #8-Josh Berry (27th), #27-Jeb Burton (31st) and #1-Sam Mayer (38th).
There were nine lead changes among four drivers and 12 cautions for 65 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was 107.153 mph.

In his final start of the season for Joe Gibbs Racing, #19-Trevor Bayne will start second (184.919 mph). Playoff drivers #00-Cole Custer (184.281 mph), #8-Josh Berry (184.181 mph) and #21-Austin Hill (184.080 mph) round out the top five.
