Finally officially announced: NBA Hall of Fame basketball player Julius “Dr. J” Erving and former NFL All-Pro running back Joe Washington announced their new minority-owned team would run Fords next season on both the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series circuits. The team will make its debut at Daytona International Speedway for Speedweeks 1998 on both the WC and BGN series. No drivers have been signed, nor has a crew chief or sponsor.
