Shell Oil will sponsor Tony Stewart in the Joe Gibbs owned #44 Shell Pontiac in the BGN series. Stewart made his Gibbs debut at IRP on 8-1. The car number will be 18 in 1998. Stewart plans to drive five BGN events this year and a full schedule in 1998. He also may enter some Winston Cup races later next year. Shell will also continue to be an associate sponsor of Gibbs’ Winston Cup car driven by Bobby Labonte(AP)(7-31-97)
