A few readers reported that there was an interview with Chryslers director of Motorsport, Bob Lutz, during one of the red flag situations during the truck race 8-1 on ESPN2. He was asked about Dodge’s potential to run Winston Cup now that the 4-door Taurus was approved. His comment was that Dodge is committed to racing where the race vehicles are close to what they produce and sell. He mentioned that the trucks in the showrooms were V-8, rear wheel drive, and matched close with what Dodge races, whereas Dodge does not produce a V-8 rear wheel drive passenger car that would be similar to what is run in Winston cup(8-1-97)
