From NASCAR Online: Todd Bodine announced his Winston Cup plans as he will return full-time in 1998 driving a #35 Pontiac sponsored by Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce. The Team Tabasco shop, is headed up by Bob Hancher. Bodine will be driving a Pontiac sponsored by Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce for the Washington Erving Motorsports new NASCAR Winston Cup Series team(NASCAR Online) This part doesn’t make sense, the story didn’t mention any owners early last night and remember the big announcement and press conference with Washington Erving Motorsports on May 21st. Ford supposedly signed the team, plus during RPM2Nite they never mentioned Washington Erving Motorsports at all or showed the owners, don’t you think that would have been a big part of the announcement? Not sure what happened here(NASCAR Online/RPM2Nite) SpeedNet doesn’t mention an owner. But after some digging I found this: Bodine will drive the No. 35 Tabasco Pontiac Grand Prix at Charlotte and Atlanta this season. Then he’ll embark on a full Winston Cup season next year. The team is owned by an Indianapolis group, International Sports Management(ISM), and headed by Bob Hancher. They have leased a shop in Huntersville, N.C. at The Greensboro News & Record by Bob Zeller. So which is it??(8-2-97) BUT an UPDATE: Now NASCAR Online has removed the Washington-Erving part of the story and it’s back to the original post, so the owners must be ISM.
