From many readers who heard it on Winston Cup Today: Budweiser will now be the official beer of NASCAR and that the Busch Clash will now be called the Bud Shootout. The format of the race will remain the same, but there will be no “wild card” spot for the event. Rather, there will be a 25 lap race and the winner will go on to compete in the Shootout (kind of like the Winston Open at Charlotte). No mention on if the Busch Grand National series will be renamed(I’m safe, I just call it the BGN series).(8-6-97)
