I hear from a reader: The #3 and #31 cars were testing at the track, and Jay Sauter, Mike Dillon (Childress’s son-in-law) and Dave Marcis were testing the #3 and #31 Chevy’s at Talladega on Monday(11-10). Marcis put one of the cars in the wall during the test in the morning. Per “Winston Cup Today” radio show, the car Marcis was testing was destroyed, the right rear tire blew, Marcis was ok, they were testing the new SB2 GM heads(11-11-97)
