The return of Chrysler – There’s been a lot of talk and print on the subjectfor the last few days. It started the beginning of last week when Autoweek’s Al Pearce broke the story that Chrysler was indeed interested in returning to the elite touring division for stock cars – aka NASCAR’s Winston Cup. The talk, as far as we can tell, is extremely premature and appears to be originating from NASCAR itself rather than from the Chrysler Corporation. The talk is very well intentioned and appears to be an effort to get all the U.S. based car manufacturers involved in America’s fastest growing sport.
