Dave Marcis was angry about not getting a provisional last weekend at Michigan, and vented his frustration by saying NASCAR doesn’t care about helping the people who need help to make races. Marcis is a fine gentleman who has given a lot to the sport, but the sport also has given at lot to him. If NASCAR wanted to tailor its rules to help the people who need help, it should aim at younger drivers who will make the sport’s next generation of stars, not a 57-year-old who is just trying to hold on.(David Poole’s Random Thoughts at That’s Racin’) (08-20-1998)
