“Officials at Budweiser are mulling over what to do next season, and there is still speculation that the company might leave the Hendrick family. Among the drivers on Budweiser’s wish list are: Dale Jarrett, Jeff Burton, Ward Burton, John Andretti and Bobby Labonte. Wally Dallenbach is in Hendrick’s Bud car for the rest of this year and still hopes to get that ride full-time next season. Insiders say that Richard Childress is Bud’s top option, and that if a change doesn’t come in 1999, it will probably come for 2000 season.
