Bill Davis, owner of the #22 MBNA Pontiac driven by South Boston, VA, native Ward Burton, could be the new Tabasco man. The rumor is that NASCAR is working to help the two become a team. Davis is keeping quiet about his plans.( Times Dispatch ), and Burton hasn’t ruled out a move from Bill Davis’s No. 22 (perhaps to Hendrick’s 50) but is expected to stay put, with a new sponsor (possibly Tabasco) replacing MBNA on Davis’s cars.( SpeedNet/Ben Blake ) (08-31-1998)
