From this weeks Winston Cup Scene: Sponsor May Leave Hendrick Early – With DEI signing Bud to a long-term sponsorship deal for Dale Earnhardt, Jr and their 2nd team Cup operation, sources say Bud could leave the Hendrick #25/50 team as soon as the beginning of the 1999 season. It goes on to say that the relationship between Hendrick and Bud has been seriously strained. Hendrick is actively looking for a new sponsor for the #50 team. Sources say, according to the article, that Hendrick has talked to Caterpillar(a Jayski source confirms this), who presently sponsors the #96 Buz McCall team and is rumored to be leaving.
