Kyle Petty’s “Race to End Hunger” continues next weekend at the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Charlotte. Petty, Food Lion, WSOC-TV and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina have teamed up in an effort to help feed needy families. Fans can participate in the effort by taking four non-perishable food items to either of Petty’s souvenir trailers, which will be parked at Charlotte Motor Speedway beginning next Wednesday, and continuing through race day on Sunday. In exchange for the food donations, fans will receive a “Race to End Hunger” T-shirt, while supplies last. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Petty when he signs autographs at his souvenir trailer following the final practice session on Thursday afternoon.(NASCAR Online)(9-27-98)
