The 1999 BGN schedule has not been announced, but sources indicate that it will grow by one event from 31 to 32 races. Hickory Motor Speedway will be the only track to lose its date. South Boston, a short track in southern Virginia, also had its date in jeopardy but officials there were able to come up with the $540,000 minimum purse the BGN series will require next year. Two tracks will be added to the schedule – Phoenix and Memphis. Phoenix will have its race in November in conjunction with its Winston Cup event.(That’s Racin’)(10-25-98)
