From That’s Racin’ – A source close to the situation said Robert Yates Racing will name Doug Richert as the new crew chief for the #28 Fords driven by Winston Cup 1998 rookie of the year Kenny Irwin. Irwin’s former chief, Richard “Slugger” Labbe, was released following the season finale at Atlanta. An official announcement of Richert’s hiring is expected by early next week.
