NASCAR driver Jeff Burton has clinched first quarter voting for the Driver of the Year award as voted on by national motorsports media. Burton had 10 first place votes and 102 points which gives him a 54-point lead over three-time Driver of the Year Jeff Gordon with 48 points. NHRA funny car driver John Force is third with 41 points followed by World of Outlaws driver Mark Kinser with 40 and CART driver Greg Moore with 22(SpeedNet)
